It looks like Strikeforce’s 185-pound division could be getting a much needed boost.
According to MMAFighting, Sengoku middleweight champ Jorge Santiago has been granted a requested release by the Japanese promotion and is now eyeing a contract with a top North American organization.
Judging by the 2007 Strikeforce Middleweight Grand Prix winner’s Twitter posts the past few weeks and the fact that he didn’t fare too well in the UFC Octagon, it looks like Scott Coker and company are most likely to land him, unless he’s looking to add another obscure belt to his trophy case, in which case he could sign on to win Bellator’s season two middleweight tournament.
