Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will sort through some of its bantamweight clutter when top contenders Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera collide for the right to stay afloat in the 135-pound title pool.
Where and when?
The upcoming UFC 255 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Nov. 21, 2020, inside APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to a report from Combate. The placement of their three-round showdown is likely to land on the main card.
Aldo (28-7) has lost three straight and stands at 0-2 since dropping down to the 135-pound division. “Junior” was last seen getting smashed by reigning bantamweight champion Petr Yan back in July.
Vera (16-6-1) recently derailed the Sean O’Malley hype train with a technical knockout victory over “Sugar” at UFC 252 last August. “Chito” has won six of his last seven and finished all six of his wins by knockout or submission.
UFC 255 will be headlined by the championship doubleheader pitting flyweight kingpin Deiveson Figueiredo opposite Alex Perez, not long after Valentine Shevchenko defends her 125-pound strap against Jennifer Maia.
Expect more UFC 255 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
