Josh Barnett will compete at least one more time for Zuffa.

The Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finalist will meet Nandor Guelmino on the promotion’s Jan. 12 event, which is expected to be its swan song. MMA Fighting confirmed the booking with sources close to the event after MMA Junkie first reported it.

The relatively-unknown Guelmino (11-3), nicknamed “The Hun,” will be making his Strikeforce debut. Guelmino, born in Vienna, Austria, has won his last seven fights in a row.

Barnett (31-6) had his eight-fight winning streak snapped in May when he lost to Daniel Cormier in the finals of the Strikeforce GP. This fight will mark the last one on his current contract, and according to sources, he has yet to sign a new deal with Zuffa, the parent company of Strikeforce and the UFC.

Also scheduled for Strikeforce’s Jan. 12 event is Nate Marquardt vs. Tarec Saffiedine for the welterweight title, Daniel Cormier vs. Dion Staring and Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle.

The event, which will take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, will air on Showtime and Showtime Extreme.

If you’re one of the many who is unfamiliar with Guelmino’s work, below is a video of his Mix Fight Night 2 fight against Sasa Lazic in Jan. 2012, followed by his World Free Fight Challenge 12 fight against Ajlin Ahmic in Dec. 2010.
