UFC on FOX 11 card is shaping up to be another Brazil vs. the world edition, as a middleweight contest between Caio Magalhaes and Josh Samman was officially announced by the promotion on Thursday.
Magalhaes (7-1) returns to the Octagon after a close unanimous decision victory over Nick Ring at UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane, Australia, last December. Prior to that win, the former Shooto middleweight champion tapped Karlos Vemola with a second-round guillotine choke in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Samman (10-2) also enters the bout riding a two-fight win streak. Ricardo Lamas’ teammate at MMA Masters competed at TUF 17 and finished Lou Bercier, Tor Troeng and Jimmy Quinlan during the reality show, losing to tournament winner Kelvin Gastelum in the semifinal. In his UFC debut, Samman knocked out Kevin Casey.
UFC’s return to FOX takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, on April 19, and is headlined by Fabricio Werdum vs. Travis Browne. An updated fight card can be seen below.
