A women’s featherweight bout has been announced for an, as yet-to-be-announced, November Strikeforce Challengers show between Judo Olympian Ronda ‘Rowdy’ Rousey (3-0) and Canadian fighter Julia “The Jewel” Budd (2-1).
The announcement was made via Twitter (@Strikeforce) on Wednesday, noting that both fighters had verbally agreed to meet.

This is the first information concerning the November Challengers show, which should take place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rousey (Pictured) is a former 2008 Judo Bronze Olypmic medalist with a perfect 3-0 record. She debuted with Strikeforce earlier this month at the SF Challengers 18 event, earning a technical submission over opponent Sarah D’Alelio. There was some controversy to the armbar submission win as D’Alelio didn’t tap, but her cries of pain and Rousey’s insistance forced the referee to intervene.
All three of Budd’s pro-bouts have been inside of the Strikeforce cage. The Canadian fighter earned a unanimous decision over noted kickboxer Germaine de Randamie in June at a SF Challengers 16 event. ‘The Jewel’ suffered a 14-second knockout loss to Amanda Nunes at SF Challengers 13, while stopping Shana Nelson at SF Challengers 11 via TKO in October of last year.
