A recently announced bout between female bantamweights Julie ‘Fireball’ Kedzie (16-9) and Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie (2-2) will see a change as Kedzie has been forced to withdraw due to injury.

The two were scheduled to meet on September 23rd at the Strikeforce Challengers: Larkin vs. Zwicker event, which will take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

News of Kedzie’s injury was reported by MMAWeekly.com who had no information on the exact nature of the fighters injury, but did note the search was on to find a replacement.

Kedzie, a Jackson’s MMA product, recently made her Strikeforce debut last month at the Fedor vs. Henderson event. She would drop a unanimous decision to Alexis Davis at the event, ending a four fight win streak. Kedzie’s last victory came in April, earning the Jackson’s MMA Series women’s bantamweight title.

“The Iron Lady” de Randamie is a noted Muay Thai kickboxer with a long list of wins, she has yet though to achieve the same success as a mixed martial artist. She is 1-1 under the Strikeforce banner, losing to Julia Budd by unanimous decision in June at a Strikeforce – Challengers 16 event and won her promotion debut by KOing Stephanie Webber last January at the Diaz vs. Cyborg event.
