Flyweights Jussier Formiga and Ben Nguyen and light heavyweights Tyson Pedro and Saparbek Safarov will all meet in Perth, Australia.
Two fights were added to the first ever UFC event in Perth, Australia, as MMA Junkie reported, flyweights Jussier Formiga and Ben Nguyen, as well as light heavyweights Tyson Pedro and Saparbek Safavor have all been added to the card.
Jussier Formiga (20-5) has recently submitted Ulka Sasaki via rear-naked choke in September, to rebound from an unanimous decision loss to Ray Borg, in March. The Brazilian hasn’t put together a win streak since 2015.
Ben Nguyen (18-6) will try to make it three in a row against Formiga, having already defeated the likes of Tim Elliot and Geane Herrera in his last two outings. His last and sole UFC loss came in July 2016, when he was TKO’d by Louis Smolka.
Australia’s Tyson Pedro (6-1) began his UFC career with a couple of wins over Khalil Rountree and Paul Craig, but dropped an unanimous decision to Ilir Latifi in September. Saparbek Safarov (8-1) was undefeated until his UFC debut, when he was knocked by Gian Villante, in December 2016.
UFC 221 is scheduled for February 11, in Perth, Australia. Although not official, a title unification bout between middleweight champion, Georges St-Pierre and interim champion, Robert Whittaker has been targeted to headline the event.
