Flyweights Jussier Formiga and Brandon Moreno will square off in Brazil.
A bout between top flyweight contenders was officially added to the upcoming UFC Brasilia card.
On March 14, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Jussier Formiga will now take on Brandon Moreno, who is only two fights into his second Octagon stint.
Knocked out by Joseph Benavidez in his last outing, Jussier Formiga (23-6) was on a four-fight winning streak before the defeat, with victories over Ulka Sasaki, Ben Nguyen, Sergio Pettis and most recently, Deiveson Figueiredo. His loss to Benavidez is his only one over the past two years.
Moreno (16-5-1) scored a unanimous decision win over Kai Kara-France back at UFC 245, but fought Askar Askarov to a split draw just before that, in what was his first bout back in the UFC after he was initially released. While away, the 26-year-old became the LFA flyweight champion with a TKO victory over Maikel Perez. Moreno’s last loss happened in May 2018, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Alexandre Pantoja, which led to his UFC release.
UFC Fight Night 170 streams live on ESPN+ from Brasilia, Brazil. No main event has been announced for the event.
