We have reached peak MMA.
Well. I’m not really sure what to say here.
Singer Justin Bieber said Sunday he wants to have an MMA fight against actor Tom Cruise. Bieber, 25, called out Cruise, 56 — seemingly out of nowhere — on Twitter.
“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon,” the Canadian Bieber wrote. “Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?”

To no one’s surprise, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor chimed in, offering to host the bout should it come to fruition.
“If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout,” wrote McGregor, who hasn’t fought since an October loss to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. “Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!”

Cruise has yet to respond to Bieber.
This isn’t the first time Bieber has been involved in talks of a potential — yet still far-fetched — MMA fight. In 2014, he and actor Orlando Bloom talked about fighting each other. Former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather even offered to train Bieber for the fight, while UFC Hall of Famer and ex-champ Forrest Griffin offered to help Bloom with preparations.
Only time will tell if Bieber and Cruise will actually agree to a fight — and if the UFC (or another MMA promotion like Bellator) has any interest in it, and if a commission would sanction it. I’m very doubtful of the latter.
I didn’t know what to say when I started writing this story, and that hasn’t changed. And it probably won’t for a while.
