Justin Gaethje eyes Eddie Alvarez showdown after beating ‘little bitch’ Michael Johnson

Justin Gaethje made the most of his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut at this past Friday’s (July 7, 2017) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada, by knocking out Michael Johnson in what proved to be a “Fight of the Year” contender.

In what was a thrilling back-and-forth brawl that saw both men reeling at one point, Gaethje managed to weather Johnson’s early storm to come back with devastating shots that ultimately put “The Menace” down for the count in round two.

According to Gaethje, Johnson has no one to blame but himself after he put himself in a hole with all of his pre-fight trash talk, only to realize that he was way in over his head once the opening bell sounded.

“Yeah I did (respect his toughenss). But, he dug himself a hole. He didn’t want to go out there looking like the biggest bitch in the world, so he just kind of wanted to go out there and look like a little bitch,” Gaethje said during a recent edition of The MMA Hour.

“So he knew he got to that point where he wasn’t a huge bitch anymore so he could go down. I took it from him. Like I said, heart rate, thought process, I took every single one of them. Before the bell even rang I was controlling his thought process. As soon as the bell rang his heart rate was mine. His heart rate had to compete with mine and that can’t happen,” he added.

Now, “The Highlight” — who is $100,000 richer due to his performance — has his eyes set on one of “The Menace’s” training partners, as he revealed that he would love the chance to either beat up or get beat up by former Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

“Who’s in front of me? I want to go forward. Eddie Alvarez is in front of me. I want to fight the best in the world. I am a huge fan of Eddie Alvarez and nothing would make me more happy than to challenge that guy and to get beat up by him or beat him up,” concluded the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) champion.

Gaethje originally had his sights set on Tony Ferguson, but since UFC president Dana White is set on re-booking “El Cucuy” agaisnt Khabib Nurmagomedov, “Highlight” has to look elsewhere for a fight.
