“Tarzan” should have gotten some pitching lessons from this resurgent “Beast.”
Just like Conor McGregor, UFC 302 co-headliner Paulo Costa lumbered to the mound wearing clothes that don’t fit. Also like the “Notorious” power puncher, “The Eraser” threw a dreadful first pitch that sailed far beyond the reach of the befuddled catcher.
Rick Ankiel would be proud.
Sadly, that effort was an accurate representation of New York’s other ball club, no stranger to embarrassing first pitches. The Mets went on to lose to the Los Angeles Dodgers and fall to 22-32 for the 2024 season — but can redeem themselves later tonight at Citi Field.
Here’s another look:

Yikes.
Costa, 33, will be looking for some redemption of his own after falling to Robert Whittaker at UFC 298. “The Eraser” battles former middleweight champion Sean Strickland in the UFC 302 co-main event this Sat. night (June 1, 2024) at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
