Coach John Kavanagh couldn’t be any happier for Artem Lobov.
Artem Lobov did it.
After weeks of trash talk from former two-division boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi, ‘The Russian Hammer’ beat ‘Magic Man’ in a bare knuckle grudge match at BKFC 6.
Lobov, who entered Saturday night’s headlining bout at Florida State Fairgrounds Arena as the betting underdog, beat Malignaggi via unanimous decision — and coach John Kavanagh couldn’t be any happier.
The SBG Ireland head coach, who also trains former UFC two-division champ Conor McGregor, posted on Twitter that Lobov beating Malignaggi was the best day of his life.

“This is the best day of my life,” an ecstatic Kavanagh posted in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Malignaggi was furious with the judges at BKFC 6 but the 38-year-old says his beef with Lobov has been settled, paying respect to the former UFC featherweight at the post-fight press conference.
“I still don’t agree with everything that he did, but I’m sure people aren’t going to agree with the way I responded to everything too,” Malignaggi said during the post-fight presser. “So respect to Artem. He’s got a newborn baby, so he’s probably going to benefit from this and do well for himself.”
