Watch highlights of Keith Thurman’s split decision win over Danny Garcia in the PBC on CBS main event.
Keith Thurman (28-0-1 NC, 22 KOs) handed Danny Garcia (33-1, 19 KOs) his first defeat in Saturday night’s PBC on CBS main event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Thurman won by split decision (116-112, 113-115, 115-113) to retain his WBA welterweight title, as well as take possession of Garcia’s WBC belt.
Highlights of the fight can be seen at the top of the page.
While Thurman and Garcia failed to deliver a punishing knockout blow, the same cannot be said for junior middleweight Erickson Lubin (18-0, 13 KOs), who brought the crowd to its feet with a sensational left hand finish of Mexican veteran Jorge Cota (25-0, 22 KOs). Cota beat the count but the referee had a good look at him and decided he was not fit to continue. It’s expected that Lubin’s next fight will be a title matchup against the Jermell Charlo vs. Charles Hatley winner. Charlo is the current WBC 154 lbs champion and will face Hatley in April.
