Kelvin Gastelum and Colby Covington react to the news of Anderson Silva’s potential anti-doping violation.

Yesterday, it was announced that Anderson Silva had been removed from his headlining bout with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 122 due to a potential anti-doping violation.

The UFC reports that Silva, who was banned from competition for one year due to his use of steroids in 2015, failed an out-of-competition drug test on October 26 and has been provisionally suspended by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

His opponent, Kelvin Gastelum, is devastated with the news and hopes to find a suitable replacement for Nov. 25.

Colby Covington, who has recently come under fire for his controversial comments about Brazil, reacted to the news in a slightly different manner, calling Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion, a ‘filthy animal’.

Covington, 29, called the Brazilian crowd ‘filthy animals’ after his decision win over hometown hero Demian Maia at UFC Sao Paulo last month.

Expect the UFC to announce a replacement for Gastelum in the coming days. UFC Fight Night 122, which was originally supposed to feature Silva vs. Gastelum in the main event, takes place on November 25 at Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China.
