“I’m good with fighting in an empty arena. Let’s not panic too crazy, let us fight, entertain the people stuck at home.”
Earlier today it was reported that this Saturday’s highly anticipated UFC Fight Night event at Ginásio Nilson Nelson Arena in Brasília would be held in an empty arena due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus.
The UFC was also forced to cancel Ultimate Media Day on Thursday.
“Due to consideration of the government’s decree yesterday, Ultimate Media Day has been cancelled. Content featuring the athletes scheduled to fight in Saturday’s event will be captured and shared with credentialed media members in advance of the event,” the UFC released in a statement on Thursday.
UFC Fight Night 170 headliner Kevin Lee (18-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) has urged fans not to panic, however, as ‘The Motown Phenom’ has no problem fighting Charlies Oliveira (29-8-1 MMA, 16-8-1 UFC) behind closed doors and is still planning to put on an entertaining show for fans watching at home.
