Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight titleholder, Khabib Nurmagomedov, recently submitted Conor McGregor to cement himself as the undisputed 155-pound champion and one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.

At this point in his perfect mixed martial arts (MMA) career, Nurmagomedov (27-0) can pick and choose his opponents (like this relic), as well as when and where he wants to fight. That’s why “The Eagle” can’t understand why anyone would expect him to waste time on someone like Nate Diaz.

Especially with fights like this on the horizon.

“No, I don’t know. Like, people forgot about him,” Nurmagomedov told Submission Radio. “That’s why he tried to be on media, like, try to trash talk me and something like this. We all know about him. How many times he lose? Like, 12 or 11? Like, everybody, all top fighters beat him. Like, Rory MacDonald, Benson Henderson, Dos Anjos, Conor. Everybody beat him. Like, forget about him.”

I guess he’s not interested in that Las Vegas rematch.

Nurmagomedov will be unable to plan for his Octagon return until settling his business with Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), a disciplinary hearing (details) that is expected to draw both a fine and suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.

As for Diaz (19-11), he’s been out of action since dropping a majority decision to the aforementioned McGregor at UFC 202 back in summer 2016, despite multiple attempts to get the longtime veteran back inside the cage (example).

I guess this prediction came true after all.
