This fight happened once before and has till date set the record for number of views in Mixed Martial Arts history and now the president of Bellator, Scott Coker, has revealed that the two will face off again and this time it will happenĀ in the O2 Arena in London on the same evening that Bellator will for the first time happen on British soil.
Bellator fight night 158 is going to be a huge night for Bellator and Mixed Martial Arts in general as Bellator debuts in the United Kingdom and will showcase some highly anticipated fights during this fight night.
The two fighters clashed for the first time back in 2008 in a fight that is now almost iconic, most people still remember the EliteXCbanner that hung over the ring that day as the two fighters had a go at each other. The fight seemed highly competitive and very close, it was almost impossible to call it up until the third round when Slice caught Thompson with a pretty big blow that left him with a cut in the cauliflower ear and it started to bleed. From this point onwards, Slice now became the dominant fighter and was able to follow up his cut inducing punch with a few more solid connections and eventually won via a technical knockout victory which was very controversial to say the least.
The Bellator president himself, Scott Coker, acknowledged that Kimbo Slice was more than just a fighter, he said he was a unique and charismatic character that attracted a huge fan following where ever he went and so he was an invaluable fighter for the Bellatow which is one of the main reasons they are putting him in the headling fight of Bellator fight night 158 which will be a very important fight night for Bellator as it will be the debut of Bellator in the United Kingdom.
Previously, Thompson seemed to be in control until Slice landed that one punch and calling this fight I going to be really difficult. What we can expect for sure is a great fight and quality sporting entertainment.
