Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock have both been put on administrative suspension following failed Bellator 149 pre-fight drug screens. Kimbo’s win over Dada 5000 has been officially overturned to a No Contest.

Bellator 149 may have been a massive ratings success for the promotion, but in the three weeks since the card, it’s been taking hits from all sides in the form of disappointment and concern from fans, fighters and media. Now, another negative piece of information has come to light. There have been two failed drug tests on the card, and both men just happened to be at the top of the card.

Kimbo Slice, who faced off against Dada 5000 to disastrous post-fight results, has failed his drug test. The other athlete, Ken Shamrock, has already got a past failed drug test on his record (2009 failure for the following: norandrosterone, noretiocholanolone and stanozolol) to add to this most current one. No word has been released on what substance(s) showed up in their respective samples. Both tests were administered before their bouts.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has suspended both men pending an adjudication process, according to a report from MMA Fighting. Bellator’s head of PR, Danny Brener, said that the promotion has not been officially notified yet, but that Scott Coker is looking into the matter.

According to MixedMartialArts.com, the third round TKO Kimbo Slice scored over Dada 5000 has been officially overturned to a No Contest. As always, Bloody Elbow will keep our readers updated on this story as more information becomes available.
