Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is on the prowl for a new main event after former headliner, Jason Knight, suffered a late injury and was forced to withdraw from the Aug. 10 show in Biloxi, Mississippi.
“I suffered a pretty bad rib injury a few weeks back,” Knight wrote on Twitter. “I’m sorry to announce it, but I wont be fighting at [BKFC] 7 in August… sorry if I let anyone down!!”
Knight was scheduled to throw hands against fellow UFC import, Leonard Garcia, who is expected to remain on the card. I’m not sure what a bare-knuckle boxing fight camp looks like, but I don’t anticipate matchmakers having much trouble finding a new opponent.
That said, this is an unfortunate turn of events for Knight. BKFC is coming off its most visible pay-per-view (PPV) to date, affectionately known as “The Night Artem Beat Paulie,” and “The Kid” had an opportunity to follow that up with some fireworks of his own.
A timeline for his in-ring return has yet to be determined.
