The 2024 PFL Europe Championships in Lyon, France delivered another highlight reel finish earlier today (Dec. 14, 2024), as Patrick Habirora demolished Catalin Safta in the third and final round of their catchweight fight (165 lbs) with a nasty finish.
The two men had a pretty good back-and-forth scrap throughout the first 12 minutes of the fight, but eventually Habirora caught Safta slipping after he came in with sloppy striking halfway through round three. And all it took was that split-second of carelessness for Habirora to take advantage and deliver a laser-like right hand on his rushing opponent to drop him to the canvas.

That strike alone likely would have bee enough to be a walk-off knockout victory, but Habirora played it safe and delivered two follow up hammer fists to seal the deal. It was one of the best knockouts (and celebrations) of the night (see a couple more here and here), and it improves Habirora’s record to 5-0, while Safta drops to 5-3.
