After losing in the PFL Europe finals in 2023, Lewis McGrillen returned with a vengeance in 2024 to win the Bantamweight title in devastating fashion earlier today (Sat., Dec. 14, 2024) in Lyon, France, stopping Alexander Luster via technical knockout (TKO) in the second round.
Both men came out aggressive to start things out, and the action played out on the feet for the duration of the bout. Both men were landing big shots until McGrillen unleashed a nasty left hook that dropped Luster like a sack of potatoes. It was a shot that seemingly ended the fight, but Luster was still good to do. The referee implored McGrillen to finish the job, and then proceeded to pounce and deliver some vicious ground-and-pound to make it official.
