Japanese featherweight prospect Teruto Ishihara scored a tremendous knockout win over American submission specialist Julian Erosa in the opening “Prelims” contest on the UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) card tonight (Sat., March 5, 2016) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Round one saw Ishihara control most of the action as he targeted the leg and body of Erosa with solid kicks. “Juicy J” had a hard time dealing with the strikes of Ishihara, although he held a height and reach advantage.
“Yashabo” landed a nice knee on the ground during the first frame, but Erosa ended the rounded on top after he caught a kick. However, Ishihara wasted no time in round two, earning the knockout win via picture-perfect counter left hook just as the Washington native was moving forward.
Ishihara nabs his first UFC win and improves to 8-2-2 (NC), while Erosa falls to 15-3 overall (1-1 UFC).
