Kongo vs Johnson | Bellator MMA
Bellator Paris: “Kongo vs. Johnson 2” takes place Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Accor Arena in Paris, France. And despite the global pandemic, a limited number of fans will be allowed into the building for Bellator MMA’s historic debut in the country, and those tickets go on sale Sept. 15, 2020, at 10 a.m. local time.
Bellator President Scott Coker had this to say about the MMA milestone:
“I am honored that Bellator will promote the very first MMA event in France by a major promotion. Many people have worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition, and it would not have been possible without the support of the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, as well as the French Kickboxing Federation sanctioning body. I cannot wait for the French fans to be in attendance and join us live for what will be an unforgettable night of action.”
The show will be headlined by long-time French MMA star Cheick Kongo (30-10-2, 1 NC) who is currently undefeated in nine straight bouts. That includes a knockout of Tim Johnson (14-6) at Bellator 208 in Johnson’s promotional debut, a sterling performance for Kongo that took just 68 seconds. Now on a two-fight win streak of his own, Johnson will be out to avenge that loss behind enemy lines.
Also announced at this early date for the card is the return of Michael “Venom” Page (17-1), who will face the undefeated Ross Houston (8-0,1 NC) in his promotional debut in the co-main event. Rest assured additional bouts will be revealed at a later date.
