James Krause is slowly coming out of hiding.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Krause is still under investigation for his role in the betting scandal. He allegedly served as an agent for an offshore sportsbook. However, he has slowly begun to emerge from the shadows recently.
In March of this year, he revealed in an Instagram post that he is $5 million in debt, and then last week, he competed in a Brazilan Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) competition.
Yesterday (Sat., July 6, 2024), MMA coach Chris Brennan posted a clip on his Instagram of Krause “play” sparring with regional prospect Gauge Young, who is scheduled to compete in this year’s season of Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).

Krause used to coach Young at his old gym, Glory MMA and Fitness, and promoted him heavily at Fighting Alliance Championship (FAC). FAC was once dubbed ‘James Krause’s FAC’ and featured on UFC Fight Pass. The promotion is no longer on the streaming service since UFC has cut all ties with Krause.
While it’s not illegal for Krause to hang out with his former fighters, this could be troubling for Young as he is scheduled to compete next month for DWCS, especially because any fighters who were training under Krause were banned from competing in the UFC.
