MMA: UFC Fight Night-Tampa-Swanson vs Gracie

Kron Gracie is not happy with the judges that ruled his fight against Swanson a 30-27 defeat.

Kron Gracie suffered the first loss of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career on Saturday night at UFC Tampa, losing a hard-fought decision to the much more experienced veteran Cub Swanson. Just to put the disparity in cage time into perspective, the defeat puts Kron at 5-1. Swanson advances to 26-11.

It was never going to be an easy fight for Gracie, but he made it much harder on himself than he had to by contesting the large majority of the fight on the feet, going toe to toe and striking with Swanson. The choice to swang n’ bang earned Kron and Cub fight of the night honors and a $50,000 bonus. But it also cost the jiu jitsu master the fight as all three judges scored things 30-27 in favor of Swanson.

Interestingly enough, Kron doesn’t agree with their decision. And he doesn’t just think he didn’t get his due on a round … dude thinks he straight up won that fight. Shortly afterwards he posted and image of the bout to his Instagram Story with the words “I WON THAT FIGHT” laid on top.

At this point we’d like to say that Kron didn’t look bad out there at all. We respect the guts it takes to sit in the pocket and slug it out with a killer like Cub Swanson. But Kron Gracie didn’t win that fight. He didn’t even win a round. There’s no controversy in the 30-27×3 score. Like at all.

As of this writing, you have 15 of 15 media scores on MMA Decisions agreeing: 30-27 Swanson was the right score. Which is pretty impressive … in this dark time, we finally have something EVERYONE agrees on.

Kron Gracie didn’t win that fight.
