By now, most fans are aware of the bomb UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor set off when he made some disparaging comments about World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and some of their “Superstars” while promoting his upcoming 170-pound rematch with Nate Diaz at next weekend’s UFC 202 pay-per-view.

McGregor spoke of how he would “slap the head off the entire WWE roster,” before sharing his opinion that “most WWE stars are messed up p*ssies,” which prompted a number of responses from stars in the pro wrestling world, such as Ric Flair, Roman Reigns and Kurt Angle.

Angle, who has flirted with the idea of following Brock Lesnar, and soon CM Punk, as a pro wrestler to transition into the MMA world on a few occasions in the past, issued a challenge to “The Notorious” one — but not to fight!

The Olympic gold medalist recently spoke with ESPN.com and challenged McGregor to put his money where his mouth is and try to do what he does for a living.

“Take five bumps with me in the ring. Just five bumps. When I did that for the first time, I took three and said, ‘F— this, I’m quitting.’ I quit for a couple days and my manager talked me into going back. I know how Dana White and Conor continue to bash the business, but I challenge either of them to get in the ring with me and take five bumps.”

He also explained why he feels longtime top WWE Superstar John Cena is the toughest guy in the world who has done something that McGregor could never do — enduring the lifestyle that a top WWE Superstar faces for coming up on 15 years.

“[Cena] has been on top for thirteen years. No one has ever done that,” Angle said. “He’s now in his fourteenth year on top. I couldn’t do it. Hulk Hogan didn’t do that, Stone Cold had four or five years tops, and it was the same with The Rock before he went to Hollywood. From a toughness standpoint, there is nobody tougher than John Cena. I would love to see Conor McGregor try to be on top of WWE for thirteen years. He wouldn’t make it.”

While McGregor won’t be standing across from any WWE Superstars anytime in the near future, unless, of course, CM Punk shocks the world and becomes a world-beater, he will return to the Octagon to try and avenge his first and thus far, only, loss in the UFC, as he fights Nate Diaz in a 170-pound rematch at next weekend’s UFC 202 pay-per-view.

UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 takes place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Join us here at MMANews.com on 8/20 for live coverage of the UFC 202 pay-per-view.
