Ladd may have only been one pound over the limit when all was said and done, but her pale visage and uncontrolled shaking looked nothing like someone ready to compete in the Octagon tomorrow.

Aspen Ladd seems to have a serious problem with weight cutting. This may be her first weight miss since failing to make the bantamweight limit back at Invicta FC 18, but it’s not the first time that Ladd has looked like death on the scales, giving the California Athletic Commission (CSAC) and fans a scare ahead of her bout with Germaine de Randamie, with her notably pale appearance and involuntary trembling as she hit the 136 lb limit for the fight.

Nonetheless, the CSAC cleared her for that bout, which Ladd lost via TKO just seconds into the first round. This time around, the fight won’t hit the Octagon. Ladd once again looked ghostly and unsteady as she missed weight for her fight with Macy Chiasson, coming in at 137 lbs, after initially weighing in at 141.5 lbs. Video of her standing on the scale, struggling to keep her balance had media members wondering why the bout was still going ahead.

MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin reports that Ladd vs. Chiasson has been officially scratched from this week’s UFC Fight Night card. The two women were originally supposed to meet back in July, unfortunately that fight had to be cancelled at the last minute as well, due to an injury to Chiasson.

Ladd has fought her way into top contender status in the women’s bantamweight division, with victories over Yana Kunitskaya, Lina Lansberg, Sijara Eubanks, and Tonya Evinger during her Octagon career. At this point, however, it has to be wondered if her future isn’t up in the barren wastelands of women’s featherweight. Wherever it is, it seems like she can’t afford to keep having weight cuts like this one.

UFC Vegas 38 is set to go ahead as planned with 12 bouts. The card is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight top contender’s fight between Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker.

UPDATE: Ladd has since taken to Instagram to clarify that the NSAC did not cancel the bout, and were still willing to let her compete on tomorrow’s Fight Night card. Instead, Ladd claims that Chiasson has turned down the fight following Ladd’s inability to make weight.

“Fight is off. Again. All my fault,” Ladd wrote on her social media post. “Straight up started my period 2 days back and made this cut absolutely miserable. Did the best I could, hit 137, the scale situation was a mess because the last thing I wanted was to bleed in front of the media. The fight wasn’t pulled, my opponent then decided she would rather not go through with it, as is her right. I’m going to get slammed regardless, so let it begin.”
