Lance Palmer (7-0) has replaced the injured Rick Glenn against Georgi Karakhanyan (22-3-1) at WSOF 7 on Dec. 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, according to WSOF president Ray Sefo and executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz. The five-round title fight will serve as the co-main event of a card headlined by Anthony Johnson vs. Mike Kyle.
Palmer, a former four-time All-American wrestler at Ohio State University, recently defeated Jared Downing in August to become the Resurrection Fighting Alliance 145-pound champion. He made his MMA debut in May 2011 and is considered one of the best featherweight prospects in the sport.
Karakhanyan, another rising star, has won eight in a row since his release from Bellator in 2011. “Insane” defeated Waylon Lowe via first-round guillotine choke in his WSOF debut in September.
WSOF 7 will take place at the PNE Agrodome and will air live on NBCSN.
