Bobby Lashley hasn’t competed in mixed martial arts (MMA) since capturing a submission win over Josh Appelt at the Bellator 162 event back in late 2016. Probably because the 15-2 “Dominator” has been too busy with his professional wrestling career.
But he’s not ready to say goodbye to combat sports just yet.
“Man, I’m very basic. I’m a fighter, I love to fight, I love to compete,” Lashley told WWE’s “The Bump” (via Fightful). “I wrestled my entire life, amateur wrestled my entire life. I’ve been fighting, I mean, I just met with the bare knuckle guys and talked to them about possibly doing a bare knuckles fight, maybe next year if Vince (McMahon) allows me to do it. I like to fight, I like to train, I like to fight and I like to wrestle.”
The heavyweight Lashley turns 44 in July.
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has been pretty consistent with its fight cards and judging by some of the names we’ve seen from them over the last year or so, I can’t imagine Lashley would have much trouble landing a spot inside the bare-knuckle ring.
