Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC on ESPN 3, which is set to hit Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., this weekend (Sat., June 29, 2019), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!
Heavy leather will fly inside Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., this Saturday (June 29, 2019) when Francis Ngannou locks horns with Junior dos Santos in UFC on ESPN 3’s main event, with a potential Heavyweight title shot on the line. That’s not the only title eliminator, however, as Joseph Benavidez is set to rematch Jussier Formiga in the co-feature with a crack at double champ Henry Cejudo at stake.
It’s a free card top-to-bottom, so let’s use the opportunity to turn a profit. Shall we?
What Went Wrong at UFC Fight Night 154?
Man, I seriously underestimated Dan Ige’s striking. I knew his wrestling was legit, but he out-classed a beast in Kevin Aguilar on the feet. Luckily, Deron Winn and Andrea Lee were there to offset the loss, and the throwaway Andre Ewell pick let us turn a profit. I’ll take it.
UFC On ESPN 3 Odds For The Undercard:
Ricardo Ramos (-325) vs. Journey Newson (+265)
Eryk Anders (-350) vs. Vinicius Moreira (+290)
Jordan Griffin (-360) vs. Vince Murdock (+300)
Jared Gordon (-350) vs. Dan Moret (+290)Dalcha Lungiambula (-115) vs. Justin Ledet (-105)
Emily Whitmire (-170) vs. Amanda Ribas (+150)
Thoughts: Well, this is pretty barren. The four numerical mismatches aren’t worth betting on, save perhaps Jared Gordon in a parlay, and while I had my eye on Justin Ledet when he was an underdog just on the basis of his height advantage and killer jab, but Lungiambula is too good a grappler for Ledet to be worth it at negative odds.
EDIT: And Ledet got injured anyway, so whatever.
I suppose Emily Whitmire is worth a look; Ribas has no striking defense, is a basic wrestler, and is coming off a three-year layoff. Plus, Whitmire made us some dosh when she upset Aleksandra Albu earlier this year, so let’s reward her efforts with loyalty.
UFC On ESPN 3 Odds For The Main Card:
Francis Ngannou (-250) vs. Junior Dos Santos (+210)
Joseph Benavidez (-170) vs. Jussier Formiga (+150)
Demian Maia (-185) vs. Anthony Rocco Martin (+160)
Roosevelt Roberts (-250) vs. Vinc Pichel (+210)
Drew Dober (-340) vs. Polo Reyes (+280)
Alonzo Menifield (-320) vs. Paul Craig (+260)
Thoughts: Yeah, not much here, either. Dos Santos is too fragile to be worth an investment at this stage, Jussier Formiga has improved enough to make his rematch with Benavidez a toss-up, and Demian Maia-Rocco Martin could easily go either way. Probably best to take it easy this event and just work with what we’ve got in the Prelims.
UFC On ESPN 3 Best Bets:
- Parlay — Emily Whitmire and Jared Gordon: Bet $40 to make $41.60
UFC on ESPN 3 is not the best card for gambling; however, the good news is that Ngannou vs. dos Santos is pure Heavyweight violence and the whole card is free on ESPN — it could be worse! See you Saturday, Maniacs.
