Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC Fight Night 156, which is set to hit Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay, this weekend (Sat., Aug. 10, 2019), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!

Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay, hosts the latest installment of UFC on ESPN+ this Saturday night (Aug. 10, 2019), pitting women’s Flyweight queen Liz Carmouche against former conqueror Liz Carmouche in the main event. UFC Fight Night 156 will also feature a Welterweight barnburner between the surging Vicente Luque and the inimitable Mike Perry, as well as the Octagon debut of Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Rodolfo Vieira against well-rounded finisher Oskar Piechota.

UFC Fight Night 156 is not the most pleasing of cards on paper, but it’s one we can squeeze some profit from. Let’s begin!

What Went Wrong at UFC on ESPN 5?

I’ll admit, my Hannah Goldy pick was a pretty serious research failure on my part. I didn’t know she was on the wrong end of such a reach discrepancy, and even though Trevin Giles rendered that result moot by engaging Gerald Meerschaert in the one area in which “GM3” had the advantage, it’s still my bad. Still in the black, though, thanks to Antonina Shevchenko and Nasrat Haqparast.

UFC Fight Night 156 Odds For The Undercard:

Cyril Gane (-420) vs. Raphael Pessoa (+335)
Tecia Torres (-150) vs. Marina Rodriguez (+130)
Raulian Pavia (-110) vs. Rogério Bontorin (-110)
Geraldo de Freitas (-140) vs. Chris Gutierrez (+120)
Alex da Silva (-265) vs. Rodrigo Vargas (+225)
Aleksei Kunchenko (-135) vs. Gilbert Burns (+115)
Veronica Macedo (-115) vs. Polyana Viana (-105)

Thoughts: Sadly, the masses sniffed out the best bargains on the undercard. Once underdogs, Raulian Paiva and Geraldo de Freitas now find themselves with negative odds. Paiva’s fight with Rogerio Bontorin is enough of a toss-up that the former isn’t worth betting on like this, but you can still squeeze some value out of de Freitas.

As adept a kickboxer as Chris Gutierrez is, he’s struggled every single time he’s gone up against adept takedown artists like Timur Valiev, Jerrod Sanders, and most recently Raoni Barcelos. De Freitas brought a competent wrestler in Felipe Colares to the mat six times in his Octagon debut and looks poised to do the same to Gutierrez, whose kick-heavy offense leaves him open to getting overrun. Gutierrez’s fight history suggests he’s in for a long, frustrating evening … so bank on it.

UFC Fight Night 156 Odds For The Main Card:

Valentina Shevchenko (-1250) vs. Liz Carmouche (+800)
Vicente Luque (-230) vs. Mike Perry (+190)
Luiz Garagorri (-115) vs. Humberto Bandenay (-105)
Volkan Oezdemir (-140) vs. Ilir Latifi (+120)
Rodolfo Vieira (-230) vs. Oskar Piechota (+190)
Enrique Barzola (-145) vs. Bobby Moffett (+125)

Thoughts: Yeah, I got nothing. If you’re feeling lucky, you could put a pittance on Oskar Piechota. Vieira’s one of the GOATs of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but has yet to show a complete game as a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Piechota’s the better striker and should at least hold his own in the wrestling, but again, this is risky as hell. It might be better to just stick with de Freitas.

UFC Fight Night 156 Best Bets:

  • Single bet — Geraldo de Freitas: Bet $70 to make $50
