Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has found its main event for the upcoming UFC on FOX 31 event, which is locked and loaded for at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 15, 2018.
Indeed, Kevin Lee will take on Al Iaquinta in a five-round lightweight showdown, which is a rematch of their encounter at UFC 169 back in 2014. In that preliminary fight, “Ragin’ Al” defeated Kevin via unanimous decision, handing him his first-ever loss in what was “The Motown Phenom’s” Octagon debut.
Since then, both of their respective careers have prospered, as Al has won five of his last seven fights. In his previous outing, Iaquinta received a last-minute 155-pound title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 a few months ago after Tony Ferguson — and eventually Max Holloway — was forced out of the bout.
Despite jumping in on a day’s notice, Al took “The Eagle” the distance, losing a unanimous decision to the current champion (see it again here).
As for Lee, since losing to Al four years ago he has won 10 of 12 inside the Octagon. In his first bid to capture UFC gold, “The Motown Phenom” came up short against Tony Ferguson, though he bounced back in a big way by absolutely dominating Edson Barboza.
Now, both men have an opportunity climb his way back closer to a title shot with a win in “The Brew City.” Care to offer up your early predictions as to how the rematch will unfold?
