A recent report revealed that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) had indeed been in talks to welcome back Nate Diaz to the Octagon at UFC 227 on Aug. 4, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.
And that is music to Kevin Lee’s ears, as the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight title contender took to social media to once again call for a showdown against the Stockton slugger.
@danawhite @seanshelby if y’all really want @NateDiaz209 to fight you know who to come to

Lee — who is coming off a one-sided beat down victory over Edson Barboza a few weeks ago has had Nate in his cross hairs for some time, but all of his call outs have fallen on deaf ears. And it seems this one will, as well, as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White shot down any possibility of Diaz return anytime soon.
Also, @danawhite didn’t seem to think much of the news about UFC negotiating a fight with Nate Diaz. “We offer him a fight every 3 or 4 months and have ever since his last fight. Nothing is going on.”

Nate hasn’t competed in two years since losing to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in 2016. And while a trilogy fight against “Notorious” is out of the question for the time being, Diaz’s teammate Jake Shields seems to thing Nate will return to action if the financial compensation is worth his while.
For now, it seems the Nate Diaz return is a no-go for the moment, unless he pulls a fast one and decides to make his long-awaited comeback in “The City of Angels,” much to White’s surprise, I’m sure.
