Chuck Liddell was arrested last week on suspicion of domestic violence.
Chuck Liddell was arrested at his home in Los Angeles County last week on suspicion of domestic violence after an incident involving his wife. After being arrested Liddell publicly stated that he was the victim in this case and that he volunteered to be arrested in place of his wife. Liddell then filed for divorce.
According to MMA Fighting neither Liddell nor his wife will face charges in connection to this incident. That outlet reports that a document filed with the District Attorney’s office states that authorities interviewed Liddell, his wife and their daughter. As a result of those interviews prosecutors believe that Liddell and his wife got into an argument, which resulted in the spouses pushing each other. Investigators recorded that Liddell had red marks on his face and chest after the incident. His wife did not appear to have any injuries.
In his recent public statement Liddell claimed that this incident was part of a longer pattern of trouble in his and his estranged wife’s relationship.
“This was one of the many times I have tried to shield a family mental health issue from the public purview. It has become painfully apparent that this cannot continue, as our private life has now reached a public breaking point. Please respect our privacy as I help to navigate our family through this difficult time.”
