Top-ten ranked heavyweight contenders will collide as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Alistair “The Reem” Overeem have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 156.
The bout, expected to take place Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, has been scheduled pending licensing approval of Overeem by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. That decision will be finalized in early 2013.

Aldo-Edgar Superfight Re-Booked

Super Bowl weekend will bring UFC fans a long-awaited superfight between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The featherweight title fight will take place at UFC 156 in Las Vegas on February 2.
The bout was briefly slated to headline UFC 153 in Rio before Aldo was forced to withdraw due to an injury.
“I’m pumped,” UFC president Dana White told USA Today when the bout was first made in August. “I think that people are going to be very excited for this fight.” (Click for full interview)
