Bellator MMA Welterweight champion, Douglas Lima, has been booked to return to action at Bellator 260 on June 11, 2021, defending his belt against Yaroslav Amosov inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The title fight will headline the SHOWTIME-televised event.
This will be Lima’s first fight since coming up short in his bid to become the promotion’s latest “champ-champ,” losing to Gegard Mousasi Oct. 2020 at Bellator 250 in a Middleweight championship fight.
Prior to the defeat, Lima had won three straight fights at 170 pounds, winning the Grand Prix in the process, $1 million and exacting revenge on Rory MacDonald to reclaim his title. Along the way, Lima also scored a vicious knockout victory over Michael Page, “Venom’s” first and only loss.
As for Amosov — the No. 1 ranked Welterweight on the roster — he has yet to taste defeat in his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career (25-0), which includes winning his first six fights inside the Bellator cage. In his last fight, Amosov defeated Logan Storley via split decision at Bellator 252 in Nov. 2020.
