Bellator 269 is set to go down TODAY (Sat., Oct. 23, 2021) live from inside VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia. Headlining the SHOWTIME-televised event will be a heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Timothy Johnson. In the co-main event, Vitaly Minakov will face Said Sowma, while Usman Nurmagomedov takes on Patrik Pietila in further main card action.

265 lbs.: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Johnson
Round 1: Touch of gloves. Johnson with a straight right hand. Fedor with his vintage rush in, one-tow combinations. He lands a left hand. Johnson is staying in the pocket. Nice jab from Fedor. One-two combination, straight right, left hook, then a right hook from Fedor lands and he drops Johnson flat on his back. He stands over him and doesn’t follow up because the job is done!!
Final Result: Fedor def. Johnson via first round knockout
265 lbs.: Vitaly Minakov vs. Said Sowma
Round 1: tentative start from both men. High kick from Minakov. Sowma with the oblique kick. Jab from Sowma. Low kick from Minakov. Sowma yet to pop off any offense. very tentative. Minakov comes in with a combination and they clinch against the cage. Body shots from Sowma and Minakov drags Sowma down to the canvas. Huge shots from the top from Minakov and they are both back to their feet now. High kick slaps Minakov in the face, nice one from Sowma. Minakov fires a huge right hand and he drops Sowma with a stiff jab. Sowma back to his feet. Low kick from Sowma. Minakov once again rushes in and lands three nice shots on his foe. Nice right hand from the former champion to end the round. 10-9 Minakov
Round 2: Leg kick buckles Minakov. Sowma lands another. Minakov’s leg already showing the effects of the nasty kicks from Sowma. Minakov returns fire with a leg kick of his own. High kick from Sowma, Minakov fires back with a right hand. Sowma goes back to the leg kicks and with good reason, he’s having success here. Minakov moving a bit slower here. Sowma counters Minakov’s right hands with a one-two combination. High kick from Sowma. Minakov with a kick to the body, but Sowma catches it. Minakov throws a huge overhand right and narrowly misses with it. Low kick from Minakov, checked by Sowma. Sowma with a double jab attack. 10-9 Sowma
Round 3: Sowma with a nice one-two combination set up by his low kicks. Minakov is still stalking but isn’t landing much in the final round tied at one a piece. They trade low kicks. Kick to the thigh from Minakov. Another calf kick from Sowma. Spinning back fist from Minakov and Sowma lands yet another low kick. Something is going on with Minakov’s finger. The ref steps in and puts an end to the fight. Minakov, though, is protesting and saying he wants to continue to fight. It seems Minakov has dislocated his finger. He was ready to go again after it was popped back into place by the doctor, but the fight had already been called.
Final Result: Sowma def. Minakov via third round TKO (injury)
160 lbs.: Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Patrik Pietila
Round 1: Low calf kick from Nurmagomedov. Pietela’s ankles looks to be in danger. His knee buckled. Odd. Nurmagomedov changes levels and lands a take down. In guard now. Nurmagomedov working the ground and pound. Pietila in trouble here, not a good position. Nurmagomedov now in side control. Nurmagomedov trying to mount. More ground-and-pound from the local favorite. Nurmagomedov takes his back, looking for a rear-naked choke. He has it. Peitila has no choice but to tap.
Final Result: Nurmagomedov def. Pietila via first round submission (rear-naked-choke)
185 lbs.: Anatoly Tokov vs. Sharaf Davlatmurodov
Round 1: Davlatmurodov with a leg kick, a counter right drops him. Davlatmurodov clinches against the cage. Tokov lands a few knees to the body. Davlatmurodov misses a head kick. Davlatmurodov barely misses a nice left hook. They trade punches in the center. Davlatmurodov goes back to the clinch. Tokov now with a nice guillotine attempt, forcing They both scramble, Tokov getting top position. He lands a few punches to end the the first round. 10-9 Tokov
Round 2: Tokov lands a hard leg kick. Davlatmurodov lands a right hand. Tokov lands a nice combination. Tokov lands the take down and tries to take his back. Tokov is landing short punches. Davlatmurodov lands a lead right hand. He lands a kick before they clinch again. Tokov with a nice uppercut. Tokov getting the better of the exchanges standing but Davlatmurodov isn’t backing down. They clinch against the cage. Tokov gets off some clean shots to end the round. 10-9 Tokov.
Round 3: Tokov opens up with a huge right hand. Both men look tired coming into the final round. Stiff jab from Davlatmurodov. Tokov is hitting Davlatmurodov with some hard shots. Low blow. A break in action. They clinch against the cage and they go to the mat. Davlatmurodov gets in close and tries a headlock type hold. They break. Tokov peppering with the jab, then a low kick. Tokov with a nice right hand, Davlatmurodov lands a left hook that backs Tokov up. They clinch again and they are up against the cage. The round comes to an end. 10-9 Tokov
Final Result: Tokov via split decision.
