The big news at the moment, however, is that UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has injured himself yet again and has been removed from the UFC 180 fight card in Mexico. As a replacement, Mark Hunt steps in and will face Fabricio Werdum for the interim UFC heavyweight title.
While a fun turnaround for Hunt’s career, this is a seriously damaging blow for the UFC’s push into Mexico. It’s also the ninth pay-per-view headliner the UFC has lost in 2014 due to injury.
