I’ll get to this one straight away. We have to talk about Chael Sonnen and his failed drug test that is forcing him to be removed from the UFC 175 event.
TRT is arguably the defining issue of this era of fighting. It’s certainly one of the chief ones, at a bare minimum. I’ve never seen an issue as thorny. It involves medical science, ethics, questions of oversight, promoter facilitation or rejection, the nature of competition and more. Even better, the practice has essentially been outlawed and we’re still dealing with its aftermath. It’s the most insane thing I’ve ever covered.
Lest we forget, there’s also a UFC event this weekend. The flyweight title is up for grabs, Andrei Arlovski returns to the UFC, Tyron Woodley and Rory MacDonald battle for welterweight supremacy and much more.
