Yesterday was a monumental news day in the sport of mixed martial arts. Quinton Jackson lost a preliminary injunction against Bellator, who was seeking to prevent him from competing at UFC 186 and the UFC, generally. What is interesting here is what the fallout means. The UFC issued a statement distancing themselves from Jackson and crafting a message so as to shield themselves should Bellator attempt to sue not merely Rampage, but them as well. Does the UFC’s defense hold up here? Is Bellator in the right? What does this mean for the future of Jackson’s career?
