So, this is it. The big one. Arguably the biggest fight of the year. It’s certainly the one I’m most looking forward to. And because this fight more than others requires some speculation, it really forces one’s mind to consider a huge number of possibilities.
I’m speaking, of course, about Saturday’s main event between Chris Weidman and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
As you know, I’ve gone on the record picking Weidman. If you’ve watched these chats, I did so months ago. Strangely, I thought I’d be alone, but I appear to be joined by a host of fighters. If I’m wrong, at least I have company.
I’ve also noticed, though, that many picking Weidman seem to deeply discount the skills and abilities of Silva, which is both surprising and pathetic.
And hey, it wouldn’t be another week in mixed martial arts if we weren’t talking about fighter pay.
