Celebrity boxer Jake Paul and BKFC bruiser Mike Perry will strut their stuff this afternoon, LIVE at 5:30 p.m. ET for the “Fear No Man” open workouts in “The Sunshine State.” Paul will do battle with “Platinum” atop the DAZN boxing pay-per-view (PPV) card this Sat. night (July 20, 2024) from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. (stream it here).
This weekend’s showdown will serve as a pugilistic pit stop for Paul, who is tentatively scheduled to collide with “Iron” Mike Tyson on Netflix later this year in Texas. That said, Perry has an opportunity to spoil that oft-criticized showdown with an upset victory in Tampa. “Platinum” is currently the odds-on betting underdog.
“I’m too sharp, too clean, punch way too hard, power in both hands — he makes a lot of mistakes,” Paul said on MVP Face 2 Face. “Even on his mitt work video he posted [recently]. There’s nothing he can do and I respect him. He’s very violent. It’s not taking away from Mike Perry. He can beat a lot of people, but he can’t beat me.”
Paul is 9-1 as a pro boxer with six knockouts, whereas Perry was stopped in his one and only boxing match back in 2015. A lot has changed since then, with “Platinum” establishing himself as one of the most feared fighters in the world of bareknuckle boxing. How that success transitions to the “sweet science” remains to be seen.
