Professional Fighters League (PFL) continues its 2021 season tonight (Thurs., June 10, 2021) with the latest from its Lightweight and Featherweight tournaments, plus a big-name debut in the featured attraction.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE coverage of the PFL 4 main card below, which begins at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2. We’ll also provide quick results for the “Prelims” undercard on ESPN+, which will start streaming at 6:30 p.m. ET.

PFL 4’s main event sees one of the most accomplished boxers of the modern era, two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-division undisputed champion Claressa Shields, trade the ring for the cage against veteran Brittney Elkins. The co-feature originally saw Anthony Pettis look to bounce back from his upset loss to Clay Collard against Alex Martinez, but illness forced “Showtime” out yesterday (details), leaving Martinez to face two-time champ Natan Schulte.

The main card will also see Bubba Jenkins look to keep the momentum going against UFC veteran Bobby Moffett and Brendan Loughnane square off with Tyler Diamond, while the undercard includes the likes of Clay Collard, Lance Palmer and Marcin Held, among others.

PFL 4 ROUND-BY-ROUND COVERAGE:

155 lbs.: Claressa Shields vs. Brittney Elkin

Round one: Elkin staying long, tossing out kicks. Shields falls short with overhand rights. Shields low kick and overhand, but she gets taken down against the fence. One minute in. Shields manages to stand and hit a takedown of her own, only for Elkin to sweep into mount. Two minutes in. Elkin staying heavy, landing short shots and trying to isolate Shields’ arm. Two minutes to go.

Elbows from Elkin. One minute to go. Looking for an armbar, moves to a high mount. She postures up to punch. Looking for that arm again. Decent shots. 10-8 Elkin.

Round two: Leg kicks from Elkin. Good right hands from Shields in combination. Another heavy right hand. She sprawls on the next shot, but gets overeager and ends up on the bottom in side control. Back to full mount. Cinching up an arm triangle two minutes in. Loses it, denies an attempt to bridge. Continuing to stay heavy. Two minutes to go.

Shields tries to slip out the back door, can’t. Elkin postures up for more punches. One minute to go. Elkin looks for an armbar, loses position. Shields with some hard shots from turtle. 10-9 Elkin.

Round three: Elkin sends out kicks, eats a hard right hand. Shields sprawls on the shot, separates, then follows her down into top position, pounding away as Elkin holds onto a leg. More heavy shots a minute in. Right hands piling up and there’s the stoppage.

Final result: Shields def. Elkins by TKO (punches)


155 lbs.: Clay Collard vs. Joilton Lutterbach

Round one: Check hook and low kick land for Lutterbach. Collard advancing, walks into a jab. Lutterbach looking to counter, takes a body shot. He scores a double-leg into guard. Collard tries to work his way free, only to get caught in a d’arce. He works his way free and lands a hard kick to the body, following up with punches as Lutterbach stands. Lutterbach with a reactive takedown into guard. Collard uses the fence to stand. Lutterbach separates, punches, then hits another takedown. Two minutes to go.

Collard again uses the fence to stand, falls victim to an outside trip. Back up, back down, etc. Lutterbach landing punches against the fence. Collard makes it up before the bell. 10-9 Lutterbach.

Round two: Lutterbach lands a knee, then takes Collard down with a double-leg. Collard stands in short order and lands a low kick. Lutterbach low kick, then a counter knee. Collard answers with a body shot. 1-2 downstairs a minute in. Continuing to try and walk Lutterbach down. Lutterback shoots, denied, eats some heavy body kicks while he’s on hands and knees. Low-high 3-2 lands for him. Two minutes in. Collard with rights to the body. Hard body kick. Left hook knocks Lutterbach back. Long left into the clinch, but Lutterbach answers with a hip toss. Collard stands with two minutes to go.

Lutterback drags him back to his knees, can’t keep him down. Collard works the body before separating. Counter uppercut lands for him. Collard works the body in the clinch. Lutterbach shoots again with a minute to go, brings him down with an outside trip after an initial failure. Collard looking for a kimura. He loses it, nearly gives up his back but manages to stand. 10-9 Collard.

Round three: Jab lands for Collard, right cross soon after. Still walking forward, times a shot with a knee. Kicking at Lutterbach’s legs, lets him up. One minute in. Hard leg kick from Lutterbach. Collard rips the body against the fence. Low kick lands, eats a right hand in return. Counter hook from Lutterbach, brief clinch. Another clinch. More Collard body shots two minutes in. Lutterbach leg kicks. Collard goes low-high and stuffs a shot. More body shots. Good right cross lands clean. Left hook downstairs. Lutterbach bothers him with a leg kick, hits a double-leg into guard. Two minutes to go.

Collard trying to throw off of his back, scooting to the fence. Granby roll into a leglock attempt with a minute to go. He uses it to stand, but gets slammed back down to the mat. He stands at the bell. 10-9 Lutterbach.

Final result: Collard def. Lutterbach by split decision


145 lbs.: Bubba Jenkins vs. Bobby Moffett

Round one: Jenkins comes out throwing and looks for an early takedown, dragging Moffett to his rear and landing knees to the butt. Moffett trying to work his way up against the fence a minute in. Jenkins gets him all the way down. Two minutes in. Knee from Jenkins on the way up and he shoots again, disengaging when Moffett tries a ninja choke. Trading kicks in the center. Two minutes to go.

3-2-body kick from Jenkins. Moffett landing leg kicks and they jaw a bit. He shoots, denied. One minute to go. Jenkins looking for left straights. Body kick connects, Moffett tries to answer with a head kick. Shifting straight right by Jenkins, avoids a hook kick and tries a switch kick. 10-9 Jenkins.

Round two: Jenkins shoots behind a flying knee, completes it. Good right hands from turtle position. Good riding. Moffett scrambles to his feet a minute in. Right hand from Jenkins in combination. Moffett advancing with combinations. He backs Jenkins to the fence and changes levels. Jenkins briefly grabs a front headlock two minutes in. They separate. Body kick from Moffett. Hook kick attempt. Jenkins comes back with a three-piece and punches his way into another takedown into guard. Two minutes to go.

Jenkins pressing him against the fence. One minute to go. Solid series of right hands. 10-9 Jenkins.

Round three: Some early striking exchanges. Moffett talks some trash, has to fight off a shot. He drags Moffett to his knees a minute in. Moffett with a nice scramble back to his feet, immediately has to deal with another level change. He wraps up another ninja choke and it looks deep, but Jenkins manages to fight his way free. Now takes the back, can’t get the no-hooks RNC. Landing punches as Jenkins stands. Jenkins looking a little spent, manages to land a straight left two minutes in. Straight left rattles Moffett. Jenkins tries a head kick, lands a looping left in combination. Good body shots from Moffett against the fence. Two minutes to go.

Knees and punches from the clinch. Jenkins separates, lands some decent punches. Moffett comes back with a knee, sprawls on a shot and lands punches as Jenkins tries to stand. More good work inside. One minute to go. Jenkins with an uppercut to cross. 1-2. Moffett walking him down, throwing volume. Jenkins goes for a late shot. 10-9 Moffett.

Final result: Jenkins def. Moffett by unanimous decision


145 lbs.: Brendan Loughnane vs. Tyler Diamond

Round one: Both send out early kicks. Diamond whiffs on an overhand right. He’s the more aggressive so far but has yet to land. One minute in. Both land right hands in the center. Diamond leg kick. Loughnane low kick to right hand. Another exchange of right hands. Leg kick lands for Loughnane two minutes in. Diamond with a left hook downstairs, misses wide with an overhand. Loughnane tries to spin, fires a 1-2. Head kick to left hand to calf kick. Two minutes to go.

Another calf kick knocks Diamond over. Combination from Diamond falls short. Loughnane leg kick. Diamond shoots from long range, struggling to complete the single-leg and Loughnane separates with 45 seconds to go. Heavy Loughnane leg kick. Short-range combo. Diamond catches a kick and takes him to the fence, sneaky right hand. 10-9 Loughnane.

Round two: Loughnane looks for an early head kick. Diamond really struggling with the distance and falling short with his punches. Loughnane calf kick, avoids a combo. Head kick attempt. One minute in. Loughnane shoots, scrambles through and stands after getting sprawled on. He triples up the right hand, starting with the uppercut, and floors Diamond. Heavy follow-up shots on the ground. Diamond tries to wrestle, continues to eat massive shots. He somehow manages to survive and get back to his feet. He stumbles throwing a left hand and gets buckled by a calf kick. Loughnane pummeling him on the ground. Diamond again survives and manages to kick Loughnane away to stand with a minute to go.

Loughnane takes him down against the fence and goes back to trying to batter him from guard. Brief lull. One minute to go. Now some heavy right hands from Loughnane in the final seconds. 10-8 Loughnane.

Round three: Loughnane hits an early takedown, can’t keep him there. Hard left hook connects. Diamond still marching after him, walks into an uppercut and massive right hook. A knee and more punches score another knockdown. Loughnane overextends on a right hand and ends up on the bottom in half guard. Back to full guard. Diamond chipping away with short punches. Loughnane gets his legs free and stands two minutes in. Loughnane counters a takedown with a fence grab and gets warned for it. Diamond continues to march forward, walks into another right hand. Brutal low kick and 1-2 from Loughnane. Diamond catches a body kick for a takedown against the fence and sets up in half guard. Two minutes to go.

Nice knee to the body from Diamond as he grinds from the top. Loughnane limp-legs back to his feet with a minute to go. Diamond shoots, denied, lands a counter right. He ducks right into a knee and manages to tank it for a takedown attempt. Another knee and more punches. More knees until the bell. 10-9 Loughnane.

Final result: Loughnane def. Diamond by majority decision
