We’ve purchased the ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) and with it our dynamic tag team duo, Matt Ryan and Harry Terjanian, will deliver the best possible ‘radio style’ play-by-play broadcast imaginable throughout UFC 249’s main card, starting at 10 p.m. ET in the video player below!
Dana White has gotten what he’s wanted — not “Fight Island” … at least not yet — but he has gotten Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) back and he’s got his ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) on the air.
Nevertheless, it’s UFC’s grand comeback in Jacksonville, Fla., and it seems UFC is doing all it can to protect fighters, staff, and anyone involved by taking proper precautions; however, it just feels weird. Now, before anyone calls me a pussy, a simp or a beta male (I love all of you commenters so much), I get it. We want to get back to some semblance of normal and damn do I miss calling and watching fights. But, there is a part of me that has to look at this as something messy, off-base, and indicative of a larger issue in our society.
We want to rush to where we want to go, we don’t want to dig in deep and recognize the real potential for trouble, we want to gloss over the danger because it may not hurt “us.” I know people who have lost loved ones to this, I’ve known people who have been hurt and affected by this in a magnitude of ways. And while I and my immediate loved ones are healthy, the world is a weird place.
I’m also pissed cause Khabib pulled out.
For me, Harry, and yes, for Dan A. White, tonight is about fun. We want you watching and listening along with us to enjoy the fights, enjoy this small piece of “normalcy” (new or otherwise), and forget about the horrors of the outside world for a few hours … even if they’re staring us all in the face.
So don’t miss Harry, Dan and I TONIGHT, beginning at 9:45 p.m. and going until the fights are over or I run out of moonshine. Remember that if you’d like to watch tonight’s fights along with us, subscribe to ESPN+ and buy UFC 249 right here.
