Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for its latest and greatest pay-per-view (PPV) event TONIGHT (Sat., June 6, 2020) with the UFC 250: “Nunes vs. Spencer” mixed martial arts (MMA) fight card from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 250 will be headlined by the women’s featherweight title fight pitting reigning division champion, Amanda Nunes, against top 145-pound contender, Felicia Spencer. In addition, 135-pound co-headliners Cody Garbrandt and Raphael Assuncao battle for a spot in the crowded bantamweight title chase.

Brutal counter right. Spencer still advancing, catches a body kick and puts her on the fence. Nunes counters with a hip toss into side control. Knee to the body. Nunes looks for the back as Spencer uses the fence to sit up. Two minutes to go.
Quartert guard, now half guard. Elbows from Nunes. One minute to go. Spencer regains guard, looking for Nunes’ right arm. Hard elbow by Nunes before the bell. 10-9 Nunes.
Round 2: Counter right and low kick land for Nunes. Another counter right met by a Spencer body kick. Spencer lands a lead right a minute in. Lead hook from Nunes and a right hand knocks Spencer’s mouthpiece out, prompting a pause. Another counter right. 3-2, 1-2. Two minutes in. Nunes catches a kick and slings Spencer to the mat before letting her up. Body shot and low kick from Nunes. Two minutes to go.

One minute in. Nunes chilling in top position. Two minutes in. On top in guard. Spencer sporting a big cut from elbows. Two minutes to go.
Nunes stands over her and Spencer butt scoots after her. One minute to go. Ref pauses to check the damage on Spencer’s face. Nunes swings on the fence and takes her down. Heavy lefts on the way up, then another takedown into side control. She kicks at her legs until the bell. 10-9 Nunes.

Round 1: Sterling advancing early, catches a kick and jumps onto Cory Sandhagen’s back against the fence. Full body triangle, but the choke isn’t under Sandhagen’s chin. Sandhagen handfighting well so far. One minute in. Now Sterling has it under the chin and Sandhagen taps just before falling unconscious.
Final result: Sterling def. Sandhagen by submission (rear naked choke)
170 lbs.: Neil Magny vs. Anthony Rocco Martin
Round 1: Martin advancing, Magny circling. Martin ties up on the fence. Back to the center and they trade a minute in. Low kick from Magny and Martin looks for the back as Magny moves at a bad angle. Two minutes in. Magny turns to face him and Martin changes levels. They separate with two minutes to go.
Straight right from Martin, low kicks from Magny. Martin firing his jab. Magny shoots, gets pressed against the fence for his trouble. They separate with just over a minute to go. Jabs and low kick from Magny. Another low kick spins Martin for a moment. Martin wades in behind punches and puts him on the fence again. They separate. Martin tries a 1-2. 10-9 Martin.
Round 2: Another low kick from Magny to start. Trading jabs, another low kick by Magny. Martin wades in with punches, can’t tie up. Counter right lands clean for Martin and he looks to capitalize. Martin leg kick, Magny body and low kick. Martin shoots behind a 1-2 and sets up on top in half guard. Magny gets to his knees and Martin threatens a Japanese necktie, but Magny makes it to his feet and gets double unders. Shoulder strike and knee. Martin reverses position two minutes in. Round 1: Wineland on the advance, O’Malley circling. One minute in. Lead right and body kick score for O’Malley, who eats a right cross in return. Lad right this time. Spinning back kick from O’Malley, body kick, right hook. The wheel kick misses, but the straight right after it does not, poleaxing Wineland in one shot. O’Malley turns and walks away rather than follow up on his unconscious foe.

145 lbs.: Alex Caceres vs. Chase Hooper
Round 1: Check hook lands for Caceres as Hooper pursues. Good counters. Jabs landing. Hooper fires a 1-2, can’t tie up. Hooper overcommits and gets melted by a right hook, but Caceres doesn’t capitalize. One minute in. Hooper just can’t walk him down, eats more huge left hands. Caceres avoids a takedown, lands a knee. Hooper grabs a body lock and looks for the back. Two minutes in. Hooper working with one hook, can’t get the second and they separate. 1-2 from Caceres, body shot. Combination, stiff jab. Two minutes to go.
Head kick from Caceres. Ugly exchange near the fence. Hooper still pressing forward. Counter 3-2 from Caceres. Side kick. One minute to go. Caceres jab, Hooper 1-2. Caceres 1-2-2. He grabs a body lock, drags Hooper to the mat. Hooper goes for a leg. 10-8 Caceres.
Round 2: Hooper still stalking, Caceres still moving well and countering. Hooper ties up on the fence, Caceres circles off. Hooper low kick a minute in. Hooper 1-2, Caceres body shot and uppercut. Hooper grabs a rear waist lock and looks for the back, tries a kimura roll but can’t keep a grip. Hooper lands a 1-2 and looks to tie up again. Two minutes in. Caceres manages to separate. Caceres lands a left hand and Hooper jumps guard. Caceres manages to break his grip and stand. Caceres low kick, Hooper straight left. Hooper tries to jump guard again, Caceres stands and kicks at his legs. Hooper uses the opportunity to sweep into top position. He loses position, eats punches from Caceres. Round 3: Hooper firing left hands, eating counters as usual. Caceres rips the body. More heavy counters. One minute in. Hooper changes levels, grabs a rear body lock. Round 1: Stamann answers a low kick with a 3-2. Kelleher tries a high kick, eats another left hook. More counters from Stamann. Leg kick exchange. Head kick nearly lands for Kelleher, who eats another left hand while throwing a lead kick. One minute in. Kelleher continues to lead, Stamann continues to look for counters. Counter 3-2 from Stamann, long right cross. Body kick on the fence. Two minutes in. Now Stamann on the advance, head kick blocked. Kelleher leg kick. Both sending out their lead legs. Kelleher lands a right, has to deal with a combo coming back at him. Two minutes in. Cross counter by Kelleher, pressing forward. Jab exchange, winging left hook by Stamann. Round 3: Stamann catches a low kick and stands over Kelleher, who looks to grab a single-leg as he stands. They separate. Body kick from Kelleher. Stamann with some jabs and a teep. 185 lbs.: Charles Byrd vs. Maki Pitolo
Round 1: Pitolo leading with rights for his early combos. Good punches catch Byrd, who shoots in response. He takes Pitolo to the fence, working for underhooks, gets the body lock. One minute in. Pitolo ends up taking him down into guard. Now half guard. Two minutes in. Byrd sits through and sweeps into guard, avoiding a back take. Both have landed good elbows. Byrd grabs onto a crucifix neck crank to control as Pitolo looks to stand. Now a guillotine, loses it, looks for the back. Pitolo sits through and slams Byrd down into side control with two minutes to go.
Back to half guard. Byrd working to his knees, Pitolo looking for the back. Byrd makes it up and looks for a single-leg, slamming Pitolo into side control to avoid a guillotine. One minute to go. Byrd looking for elbows. Knee-on-belly, tries to get the back, drops hard right hands at the bell. 10-9 Byrd.
Round 2: Byrd wings a wild overhand right before changing levels unsuccessfully. Nice left from Pitolo to kick off a combo. Byrd winging haymakers. Pitolo rips the body on the fence and adds an elbow. He adds an outside trip and pounds him out from turtle position.
Final result: Pitolo def. Byrd by TKO (punches)
125 lbs.: Jussier Formiga vs. Alex Perez
Round 1: Perez opens with low kicks, flicking out his jab. Formiga tries to counter. Big swings by Perez. Good left hand as they trade. Formiga lands a right cross a minute in. Perez comes back with a combo inside, continues to pick at the lead leg. Formiga appears to catch him coming in, lands a counter right and counter hook. Formiga right cross, Perez counter left. Perez digs a right downstairs as they come together. Two minutes in. Both men sending out combinations. Formiga answers a low kick with a two-piece. Nice left hand on the pivot. Two minutes to go.
Perez continues to target the calf. Counter knee by the Brazilian. Big right cross from Perez comes back at him, the biggest punch of the round. Another calf kick and Formiga stumbles to his seat. Perez waves him up and that leg is compromised. Another one to the calf and Formiga collapses in visible pain, sending the ref into action.

205 lbs.: Devin Clark vs. Alonzo Menifield
Round 1: Clark charges out of the gate with a takedown attempt. Menifield manages to defend, gets taken to the fence. He reverses position. Inside low kicks and knees by Clark while clinched. One minute in. Ref wants more action. Menifield fires an uppercut on the break that appears to injure Clark’s left eye. Menifield opens up and Clark changes levels. Menifield gets an underhook and reverses on the fence. Good right by Clark on the exit, then another right cross. Clark sporting some major damage to that eye as Menifield puts him on the fence. Good knees by Menifield. They trade on the break. Two minutes to go.
Menifield forces him back to the fence once again. Trying to do damage through Clark’s tight guard. Clark with a knee downstairs and they separate with a minute to go. 1-2 stings Menifield. Menifield fires a naked low kick and gets blasted by counters, but manages to defend and put Clark on the fence again. 10-9 Menifield.
Round 2: Clark catches Menifield coming in with a right, briefly clinches. Menifield fires a head kick, preemptively sprawls. Clark throwing with him and he’s the faster of the two at this point. Nice exchanges on the fence, backfist lands for Clark. One minute in. Menifield puts him on the fence. They trade knees downstairs. Heavy left by Clark on the exit. Two minutes in. Uppercut and clubbing right land for Menifield and now Clark’s bleeding from the mouth. Clark circles away from the fence. Menifield again hauls him to the fence. Two minutes to go.
Knees to the body from Clark as he reverses. Short uppercut from Menifield, Clark firing knees from the Thai clinch. One minute to go. More knees from Clark. Menifield putting him on the fence but offering very little offense. Big combo by Clark on the exit. 10-9 Clark.
Round 3: Clark again steps right into the clinch. Back they go to the fence. They separate. Hard right by Menifield. Clark fires to the body and ties up, absorbs a knee. Clark makes a nice entry, nicer sprawl by Menifield. Combinations and a hard knee by Clark a minute in. Menifield puts him back on the fence and threatens his own takedown. Knees from Clark after defending. Body shots in the clinch. Two minutes in. Outside trip brings Menifield down and Clark looks for the back. Hunting for the choke. Menifield makes it back to his feet. Jockeying for position against the fence. They separate and Clark shoots again, can’t quite get it with a minute to go. Menifield holding him against the fence, lands a solid right hand. Clark swings, lands a sharp right in the waning seconds. 10-9 Clark.

150 lbs.: Herbert Burns vs. Evan Dunham
Round 1: Straight left from Dunham, body kick from Burns in response. Dunham knocks him off-balance with a left, doesn’t follow. Burns tries a guard pull, Dunham engages for just a moment. They trade on the feet and Burns ties up, transitions to a rear waist lock, and takes the back. It’s not long before Burns gets the choke.
Final result: Burns def. Dunham by submission (rear naked choke)
