UFC 291 live stream results and play-by-play updates: Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje 2 lightweight “BMF” title fight tops the UFC 291 pay-per-view (PPV) main card on ESPN+ TONIGHT (Sat., July 29, 2023) at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, a five-round showdown that will serve as a rematch of their epic UFC on FOX 29 “Fight of the Year” from 2018. Round 1: They touch gloves and trade jabs before Blachowicz shoots in for the single-leg takedown. Pereira defends against the cage holding the neck. Pereira locks on a standing guillotine to no avail. They slightly reposition. Blachowicz lands some knees to the thigh while Pereira elbows the midsection. Blachowicz keeps searching for the takedown. Blachowicz gets it and takes the back, locking in the body triangle. Pereira gets caught in a brief face crank, Blachowicz gives it up. Hand-fighting commences. Hard hammerfist from Blachowicz. Blachowicz sinks on another choke attempt, trying to flatten but Pereira defends well. Round ends with Blachowicz on Pereira’s back. 10-9 Blachowicz.

Round 2: Body jab from Pereira before a pair of low kicks. Another body jab from Pereira. Pereira starts to stalk, working off the jab. Hard inside low kick from Pereira. Another body jab. Hard leg kick outside from Blachowicz. Pereira returns with one to the calf. Another hurts Blachowicz before Blachowicz fires some big overhands that land, level change leads to a double-leg takedown successful for Blachowicz. Elbow from the bottom by Pereira in guard. Tight little punches against the cage from Blachowicz on top. Pereira walks his way to his feet near the cage. Pereira breaks away to the left. Body jab from Pereira. Heavy left hook from Blachowicz. Round 3: Hard body kick from Pereira out the gate. Nice left hook and jab from Blachowicz. Pereira goes high with a head kick. Blachowicz’s calf is welted bad. Good body kick from Blachowicz. Solid jab from Pereira. Then down to the body with it. Pereira kicks low. Nice left hand from Blachowicz connects. Low kick from Blachowicz. Looping left hook is blocked from Blachowicz. Blachowicz pushes forwards with a takedown attempt, no good. Pereira gets back to chopping the legs as he eats an uppercut. Great jab from Blachowicz. Big left hook from Blachowicz nearly lands. Pereira chops the leg and the body jab keeps finding a home. Takedown attempt defended by Pereira. Round 1: Flying knee from Lewis righta way drops Lima! Lewis pounds away with massive ground and pound punches one after another and another and it;s over! The shorts are off! Wow.

155 lbs.: Tony Ferguson vs. Bobby Green

Round 1: Strong right straight from Green right away. Looking fast. Shovel hook snags Ferguson. Double leg takedown attempt from Ferguson, doesn’t quite get it and briefly gets the back of Green. They break. Good left hook to the body for Ferguson. Good jab catches Green off balance from Ferguson. 1-2 connects for Green. Ferguson drops Green with a right hand! He lets him up. Eye poke to Ferguson halts the action. Action resumes, Ferguson swings with a big left to no avail. Head kick nearly lands flush for Green. Sticking right straight for Ferguson. Big 1-2 for Green. Right hand for Green. Hard knee to the body for Green, he wanted the head kick but Ferguson was too close. Another clean 1-2 for Green. Nice overhand right off the 1-2 for Green. Left hook followed by a right for Green closes the round. 10-9 Green.

Round 2: They start with some spinning teases. Ferguson tries to jab his way into the pocket. Ferguson goes for the Imanari roll and winds up on bottom in guard. Green connects with big punches. Green thumps away as they transition to side control, Green stands up for a moment but drops back down to keep punching away. Green starts punching to the body from guard. Elbows from Green. Big hammerfists from Green drop. Green lets Ferguson up. Nice straight left from Green. Right hook connects for Green on a charging-in Ferguson. Jab lands on Ferguson. Ferguson sneaks in a nice uppercut. Big right from Green. They trade jabs. More jab exchanges end the round. 10-9 Green.

Round 3: Green lands a right hook early then snags an impromptu ankle pick. Ferguson jabs. Body jab lands for Green before an overhand right. Nice jab from Ferguson. Green snaps a nice inside leg kick. Good jab from Green. More jab exchanges continue. 1-2 clean for Green. Double jab from Ferguson before he eats a right straight. Beautiful 1-2 from Green, he’s got the speed advantage. Low kick from Ferguson in succession. Good right hand catches Ferguson off balance from Green. Pressure from Ferguson leads to a nice right straight and he takes on in return. Overhand right for Green lands. Ferguson gets caught from behind and tries to gramby roll, ending up in half guard. Round 1: Chiesa circles early. Good early shots to the body from Holland, Chiesa covers up. Holland shoves Chiesa to the ground. Chiesa has butterfly guard from bottom. They break and Chiesa greets with some uppercuts. Chiesa attempts a single-leg takedown, Holland defends as they land in over unders against the cage. Chiesa nearly gets a body lock takedown but Holland stays upright. Big knee from Holland sends Chiesa shooting. Chiesa gets caught in a d’arce choke. Chiesa taps!
