Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) makes its triumphant return to Amway Center for the UFC Orlando mixed martial arts (MMA) event TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 3, 2022) LIVE on both ESPN and ESPN+ in — you guessed it — Orlando, Fla., featuring an important welterweight showdown between two-time title challenger Stephen Thompson and former middleweight attraction Kevin Holland. Round 1: Barberena immediately goes on the advance. Looking for low kicks. Both just miss with big swings. Dos Anjos shoots and hauls him to the fence. One minute in. Both land knees to the body. Inside trip puts Dos Anjos on top in half guard. Looking for an arm triangle and he’s got it locked up. He moves to the opposite half guard and looks to squeeze; the fence is in his way. Full mount two minutes in. Short right hands to the body. Two minutes to go.
Barberena gets his arm free and regains half guard. Back to mount goes Dos Anjos. Good left hands. One minute to go. Barberena gets to a knee, can’t separate. 10-9 Dos Anjos.
Round 2: Barberena wades his way back inside and puts Dos Anjos on the fence. As soon as they separate, Dos Anjos changes levels and gets to the rear waist lock. One minute in. Quick trip, can’t keep him down. Successful double-leg gets Barberena to his seat. Again Barberena manages to stand. Outside trip and this time Dos Anjos establishes in half guard. Back to full, then to half again. Heavy shoulder pressure. Barberena gives up his back trying to stand and Dos Anjos wraps up the RNC. It’s on the chin, but the squeeze is powerful enough to draw a tap.

Round 1: Schnell pressing forward. Low kicks. Nicolau tries to flurry in return. One minute in. Nicolau leg kick as he continues to circle. Schnell falling short with combos. Body kick connects. Two minutes in. Nicolau leg kick. Left hook lands for him. He keeps circling for a bit, then drops Schnell with the next left hook. Two minutes to go.

Round 2: Schnell continuing to try to chase and Nicolau pulls him onto a clean straight left for another knockdown. Nicolau follows him down into guard. Some short ground-and-pound, then he lets him up a minute in. Another nasty counter left wobbles Schnell. Counter overhand right sends Schnell to his knees and Nicolau pounds him out.

265 lbs.: Sergei Pavlovich vs. Tai Tuivasa
Round 1: Quick hug to start things off. Hard combo from Pavlovich but Tuivasa comes back with a two-piece. They’re slugging and Tuivasa hits the deck. He makes it up but Pavlovich just isn’t stopping. A vicious right to the temple scrambles “Bam Bam” and Pavlovich follows with a murderous uppercut that sends him crumpling to the mat. A ground-and-pound barrage sends the ref into action and caps off yet another rapid knockout win for Pavlovich.
Final result: Pavlovich def. Tuivasa by TKO (punches)
185 lbs.: Jack Hermansson vs. Roman Dolidze
Round 1: Hermansson bouncing as usual. Low kicks landing. One minute in. 2-3 from Dolidze. Uppercut-hook lands for Hermansson as Dolidze steps in, then some more low kicks and a strong double-leg. Dolidze latches onto a guillotine, but can’t keep hold of it. Hermansson on top in guard two minutes in. Beautiful sweep by Dolidze, but Hermansson stays attached and turns it into another takedown attempt. They separate with just over two minutes to go.
Body and low kicks from Hermansson. Staying active with the kicks. Body kick to right hand. One minute to go. Hermansson having a lot of success circling and picking away with kicks. More low kicks piling up. 10-9 Hermansson.
Round 2: Hermansson continuing to sharpshoot. Right hand and low kick. He shoots, can’t get it, lands a right hook on the exit. Low kick a minute in. Quick exchange. Body kick met by a Dolidze left hand. Dolidze wades in with a left, falls short. Two minutes in. Both trying some awkward exchanges, neither landing clean. Double-leg puts Hermansson back on top in guard. Dolidze spins for an armbar with two minutes to go.
Hermansson avoids it, then pops out of an inverted triangle. Dolidze switches to a leg attack and wraps up a calf slicer, which he uses to flip Hermansson onto his stomach. With his leg pinned like that, he’s essentially stuck in place as Dolidze pounds away at his head until the ref intervenes.

185 lbs.: Eryk Anders vs. Kyle Daukaus
Round 1: Quick combinations at range from both men. Solid right hook lands for Daukaus. One minute in. Left hands from Anders met by a knee. Daukaus changes levels, denied. 3-2. Quick jab. Anders catches a body kick and dumps him to the mat, kicking at his legs. Two minutes in. Daukaus tries an upkick before standing. Sharp straight left by Daukaus. Anders lands a body shot, stuffs a takedown, and floors Daukaus with a heavy left hand. Daukaus trying to shoot, looks to pull guard with two minutes to go.
Back to the feet. Daukaus seems to have his wits back. Good low kick and right hook. He puts Anders on teh fence, eats a clubbing left on the exit. One minute to go. Anders to the body. Sneaky uppercut. Both step in at the same time and their heads crack right into each other, prompting a pause. Right hook from Daukaus when they resume. Round 2: Anders keeping up the pressure, Daukaus throwing with him. Daukas shoots, trying to run the pipe. Nice defense from Anders, cracks him with hammerfists a minute in. Daukas turns to his back and Anders kicks at his legs before dropping more punches. He lets Daukaus up two minutes in. Another nasty overhand left by Anders and Daukaus’ body language is not great. He tries to shoot, fails, tries again, pulls guard. Anders follows him down and blasts away with punches and hammerfists until the ref intervenes.

Round 1: Both sending out leg kicks to start. Price tries to open up on the fence a minute in. Low kicks. These are doing work. Low kick from Rowe met by a right cross. Flying knee attempt, good jab and right hand. Leg kick exchange. Two minutes in. Price swings into the clinch. Quick separation. Rowe starting to open up. He counters a takedown to land on top in guard. Another huge elbow basically explodes the side of Elkins’ face and they bring the doctor in to check on him, but he gets the all-clear. Round 1: Levy whiffs on a head kick as Valdez looks for a body shot. Levy low kick. Solid body kick, blocks the counter right. One minute in. Levy body kick after avoiding a flurry. Valdez to the body. Another body kick from Levy. Two minutes in. Straight right from Valdez met by a body kick and low kick. Hard right hand catches Levy backing up. Levy tries a head kick. Levy body kick, Valdez counter left with two minutes to go.
Trading leg kicks. Valdez tries to answer with hard swings and gets dropped by a counter right. He returns to his feet, only to get dropped again by a hook kick. Valdez knocks him back with a right hand, eats a spinning back kick, then a liver kick that visibly hurts him with a minute to go. Levy looking to sneak in more body kicks, ends up kicking him in the jewels. Wild trade at the bell. 10-9 Levy.
Round 2: Levy controlling distance, sneaks in a calf kick. Valdez 1-2, eats a body kick in return. He tries to blitz, falls short. Low kick to answer a Levy head kick a minute in. Glancing head kick from Levy, who eats a hard left hook that backs him off. Low kick in return. 2-3 from Valdez, who seems to be working his way back in. Big exchange and Valdez forces him back with a flurry. Elbows on the break two minutes in. Body kick from Levy. Valdez body shot. Levy follows with a clean head kick, then trips Valdez tot a rear body lock. Two minutes to go.
Levy keeping him against the fence, spins him down with an inside trip. Valdez trying to use the fence. One minute to go. Hammerfists from a seated position. Levy too low to throw anything. Knee and head kick on the way up. 10-9 Levy.
Round 3: Valdez has a huge welt on his right foot that the doctor takes a look at, but they let him out to resume. Low kicks from Levy to start. Valdez blitzes his way in, lands a nice elbow. Head kick from Levy. Valdez 2-3. Heavy inside low kick from Levy catches Valdez in the jewels once again. Heavy body kick when they come back. Hard flurry by Valdez, who absorbs a front kick and right hand. Levy ties up, can’t get him down. Nasty counter two-piece lands for him. Two minutes in. Good entry on teh single-leg, can’t get it, lands a body kick. Valdez still marching forward, absorbs a straight left. Very nice reactive shot by Levy puts him on top. Valdez looking for the switch. Rear waist lock for Levy with two minutes to go.
Valdez gets to the fence but can’t separate. One minute to go. Levy can’t get the hook in. He pulls out Valdez’s base to put him back on his seat. Levy powers through a fence grab to cap things off with a German suplex. 10-9 Levy.
Final result: Levy def. Valdez by unanimous decision
145 lbs.: Francis Marshall vs. Marcelo Rojo
Round 1: Both men flashing left hands. Rojo bites on a fake level change. Quick exchange, neither connects. Nice 1-2 from Rojo and a calf kick behind it. One minute in. Rojo finding the mark with those low kicks. Counter hook. Marshall checks the next low kick and tries a 1-1-2. Heavy 1-2 lands for Rojo. Step-in elbow falls short. Two minutes in. Another hard calf kick by Rojo. Nice takedown defense by Rojo, but Marshall rocks him with a vicious flurry before shooting in again. Body lock against the fence. Fence grab from Rojo. Another fence grab, but Marshall takes him down into guard anyway. Two minutes to go.
Rojo with an elbow off his back. Marshall moves to half guard as Rojo attempts mission control. Side control now. One minute to go. Marshall moving well on top, hasn’t opened up with strikes. There’s some elbows to the body. Rojo spins to his knees, caught in the front headlock. Impressively hard elbows from that position. 10-9 Marshall.
Round 2: Marshall aggressive early, eats a hard 2-3 and low kick. Next low kick catches him in the nuts. He tries a 1-1-2 when they resume. Body kick and 1-2 from Rojo. Body kick. One minute in. Nice combo by Marshall, who absorbs another overhand right to club Rojo with a vicious short right of his own. “Pitbull” flops back and gets ushered into unconsciousness with a barrage of shots.
Final result: Marshall def. Rojo by KO (punches)
115 lbs.: Yazmin Jauregui vs. Istela Nunes
Round 1: Both women flashing their left hands. Jauregui tries a four-piece. Hard lead right. She’s the aggressor, Nuns looking to counter from either stance. Jauregui throws a low kick from too close and gets melted by a straight right. Somehow she manages to pop up and hunt for a takedown, though Nunes denies it a minute in. Nunes slips. Lead uppercut from Jauregui. Left hook to low kick. She’s still pressing the attack despite the knockdown. Quick exchange two minutes in. Knee from Nunes in the clinch. Heavy check hook. She’s looking great. Another straight right to answer a low kick. Good entry from Jauregui, can’t keep her down with two minutes to go.
Nunes head kick bounces off the shoulder. Hard low kick. Kick exchange. Jauregui blitzes, caught with a check hook. Nunes tries a front kick. Straight right by Jauregui and she looks to press the advantage, eating a knee as she does. Big exchange. They end the round slugging on the fence. 10-9 Nunes.
Round 2: Jauregui still looking to attack. Low kick connects. Sharp lead right from Nunes, eats a 1-2 that has her backing up. Jauregui on the attack and she floors Nunes with an overhand right. Nunes weathers the onslaught and puts her on the fence. Reversed a minute in. Heavy elbows on the break from Jauregui two minutes in. 1-2 catches Nunes on the temple and sends her to the mat again. Jauregui blasting from guard, but Nunes closes it up. Heavy right hands and elbows by Jauregui. Two minutes to go.
Brutal hammerfists. Jauregui just beating the tar out of her from the top. Jesus, this is hard to watch. She drives home right hands until the ref intervenes.
Final result: Jauregui def. Nunes by TKO (punches)
