Rise and shine! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is messing with the time zones this weekend for its latest and probably not the greatest ESPN+ fight card. That’s where Demian Maia and Ben Askren will collide this TODAY (Sat., Oct. 26, 2019) inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore to determine the promotion’s top 170-pound grappler. In addition to their five-round headliner, Michael Johnson returns to the lightweight division to throw hands with the rough-and-tumble Stevie Ray in the UFC Fight Night 162 co-main event. Elsewhere on the card, Sergei Pavlovich and Maurice Greene go to war in heavyweight action, while Alexandra Albu looks to establish herself in the crowded flyweight division against the venerable Loma Lookboonmee.

Round 1: Ray opens with a low kick, eats a jab. Trading leg kicks. Johnson lands a leg kick and stuffs a shot. Hard 1-2 from Ray a minute in. Right hook and 1-2. Johnson 1-2. 1-3. Two minutes in. Ray leg kick and two-piece counter. Two minutes to go.
Leg kick and body jab land for Johnson. Right hook lands for him as Ray steps in. Good exchange with a minute to go. Johnson pops him with a jab, takes a low kick. More low kicks. Round 1: Dariush tries a head kick to start. Knee to the body, leg kicks. Superman punch. Sneaky left hands. Camacho comes back with a body kick. Dariush lands a hard body kick and left hands inside. One minute in. Clean 1-2. He changes levels, latches onto Camacho’s back in the scramble. RNC locked up on the chin. It’s in deep and there’s the tap.

265 lbs.: Ciryl Gane vs. Don’Tale Mayes
Round 1: Neither man has the range yet in the early going. Body kick from Mayes met with punches. Gane head kick attempt, Mayes fires some hooks that Gane avoids a minute in. Gane to the body. He changes levels, tries to land on the break. Gane tries a head kick. Two minutes in. Lead right. Uppercut misses, as does Mayes’ counter. Body kick and a pair of hard rights from Gane, Mayes tries to spin. Two minutes to go.

Round 2: Ran into some tech issues, but Markos landed a lot of good shots on the feet, got off of her back, and ended the round on top. 10-9 Markos.
Round 3: Markos landing good punches in the early going. Yoder tries to tie up, eats more shots. Hard three-piece by Markos. Two minutes in. Left hand lands. Yoder shoots, latches onto her back. Yoder transitions to an arm triangle attempt, stuck in half guard with two minutes to go.

Round 2: Both land in the early going until Fiziev puts him on the fence. They trade elbows. Fiziev crumples him with a right hand against the fence, but White springs back up. White ducks a right hand for a takedown attempt. Trading knees inside. White looking for single-legs. Jumping knee by Fiziev, eats a right hand and bangs the body. Two minutes in. Not much for the next minute. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Jab and low kick from Barzola. Evloev comes back with a 1-2. More punches. One minute in. Barzola tries a Superman punch, eats a stiff jab. 1-2 connects for Evloev, more jabs. Lots of aggression from Evloev early. Barzola wings a right hand and gets taken down for it. Evloev looking for the back two minutes in. Barzola makes his way to the fence and uses it to stand. 1-2 hurts Barzola, who swings in return. Evloev opens up, then shoots, eating some Browne elbows. Two minutes to go.

Round 2: Barzola lands some punches as Evloev shoots, still gets dragged down on the fence. He quickly stands and separates. 1-2 from Evloev, then a lad right. Good trade a minute in. Evloev looks for a double-leg against the fence, gets him down but can’t establish. Trading jabs. Barzola goes low-high. Two minutes in. Barzola tries a jumping knee. Barzola jab, Evloev uppercut. Good trade in the center. Barzola lands a body kick. Both land some good punches. Two minutes to go.
Evloev shoots, grabs a rear waist lock. He drags Barzola to a knee. Barzlola stands, eats a left on the break. One minute to go. Back to exchanging. Hard uppercut from Evloev. Barzola suddenly changes levels for a high-amplitude takedown, setting up in half guard. Elbows and punches. 10-9 Evloev.
Round 3: Good jabs, right hand for Evloev. Barzola looks to open up, avoids a single-leg. Uppercut lands for Evloev. Looking for 1-2s. Uppercut to right cross. One minute in. Jab into a takedown attempt, but Barzola with a nice switch to defend. Kinda deadlocked from the front headlock. They separate. Evloev tries a spinning back kick two minutes in. Good right cross by Barzola, eats a cut kick but stays up. Trading punches in the center, good left hook by Barzola. Two minutes to go.
Evloev takes a shin to the junk when both try to throw at once. They resume and go back to trading. Barzola doing well in the latter half of this round, pressing forward. 265 lbs.: Sergei Pavlovich vs. Maurice Greene
Round 1: Greene sending out low kicks to start. Head kick attempt. Pavlovich starts to counter the low kicks, lands an overhand right and 1-2 that knock Greene over for a moment. Body kick from Greene a minute in. Another counter right lands for Pavlovich, plus a jab. Right hand hurts Greene against the fence and Pavlovich looks to pound him out. Another right and down goes Greene. In comes the ref despite Greene’s protests.
Final result: Pavlovich def. Greene by TKO (punches)
125 lbs.: Alexandra Albu vs. Loma Lookboonmee
Round 1: Lookboonmee opens with a head kick. Trading inside, good knee. Albu marching forward, throwing punches. Lookboonmee with some heavy body knees and an elbow. More knees. Albu keeps coming. Elbows from Lookboonmee. Albu blatantly grabbing her top, gets a hard warning. Punch exchange. Hard right hand and head kick from Albu. More knees from Lookboonmee inside. Teep lands. Albu tries to spin, clinch, knees. Two minutes in. Foot sweep by Lookboonmee. Albu counters an elbow with right hands. Lookboonmee teep. Back to the clinch, more knees.
