See what happened on the scales ahead of the UFC’s latest APEX offering.
Another weekend, another UFC event. ZUFFA’s latest offering, live from their Las Vegas APEX facility, is bereft of household-names, but that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of entertainment.
The main event for this one is Derek Brunson vs. Kevin Holland in the middleweight division. Holland was a candidate for breakout performer of the year in 2020. ‘Trailblazer’ stormed onto the scene with five wins last year, culminating in an improbable KO of Jacare Souza.
Brunson had just one Octagon appearance in 2020. In August he beat-up Edmen Shahbazayan in the main event of UFC Vegas 5. Brunson hasn’t lost since 2018, when he faced current champ Israel Adesanya.
In order for this fight to happen, both Brunson and Holland need to make it through the weigh-ins unscathed (never a dead cert in the COVID-19 era).
You can see what happens on the scales in the stream below, which goes live at 12 PM ET. The video is provided by MMA Junkie.
