Round 1: Chikadze staying at range, looking for combinations. There’s the Giga Kick to the liver and it sends Swanson to his knees. Swanson tries to turn it into a takedown attempt, but his strength is gone, allowing Chikadze to thump him with punches and send the ref into action.

Final result: Chikadze def. Swanson by TKO (body kick and punches)


205 lbs.: Ion Cutelaba vs. Dustin Jacoby

Round 1: Low kick lands for Jacoby. Left hook from Cutelaba, eats a jab in return. Big 2-3 by Cutelaba after eating another low kick. One minute in. Cutelaba hits a takedown, Jacoby pops back up. Cutelaba drags him back down. Good right hand on the way up. Back down once again. Two minutes in. Cutelaba maintaining his grip, staying heavy on Jacoby as they go up and down. More right hands. Round 1: Markos flurries into the clinch, eats a counter right and gets thrown to the ground. Markos works her way back to her feet and puts her on the fence. One minute in. Head-and-arm throw by Pinheiro, landing inside, then another high-amplitude throw a minute in. She lets Markos up. Low kick knocks Markos over and Pinheiro tries to blitz. Pinheiro low kick falls short two minutes in. Markos takes an eye poke that seems pretty gnarly. She takes some time to recover, then comes out slugging. Wild exchange. Big throw by Pinheiro, lets her back up. Two minutes to go.

Markos punches into the clinch. Pinheiro reverses, then separates. Markos right hand into the clinch. Another throw from Pinheiro with a minute to go. As Markos tries to scramble up, Markos lands an illegal upkick. Pinheiro hits the deck hard. She’s milking it a bit, seemingly, but the ref calls it. Let’s see how it goes.

Kamaka manages to get his hand free and they return to the feet. 1-2-3 from Brown. Again. Head kick attempt. Check hook. Jabs from Brown, eats a hard body shot. One minute to go. Jab lands for Brown, body kick from Kamaka. Good exchange in the center. Brown takes him down into guard, popping his head out of a guillotine. Half guard for Brown at the bell. Damn close round. 10-9 Brown?

Round 3: Low kick and jab from Brown. Right cross lands for Kamaka. 1-2 from Brown, avoids the counters. Low kick from Kamaka, who sprawls on a takedown and settles into his guard. One minute in. Omoplata attempt frfrom Brown, denied. Working to stand against the fence two minutes in, does so. Combination from Brown. Glancing shovel hook, more volume. Stiff jab by Kamaka, eats a body shot in return. Brown slips as Kamaka presses forward and ends up on his back. Kamaka trying to take his back, staying attached with two minutes to go.

Brown using the fence to try and stand, dos so. Trading leather on the fence. One minute to go. Both men swinging big. Brown catches a kick and knocks him off-balance with a right hand. Brown falls back for an ankle lock, loses it and ends up on his back. Brown looks for that kimura again, can’t get it. Hell of a fight. 10-9 Kamaka.

125 lbs.: Poliana Botelho vs. Luana Carolina

Round 1: Botelho steadily advancing. Right hand attempt. Low kick from Carolina, eats a body kick in return. Botelho continuing to target the body kick, tries to go high a minute in. More body kicks. Carolina tries a 1-2 two minutes in. Overhand right from Botelho. Carolina not doing much off the back foot so far. Botelho flurries her way into the clinch before taking Carolina down into half guard. Two minutes to go.

Carloina just holding her tight. Botelho trying to get enough space to chip away. One minute to go. Hard shoulder pressure from Botelho, looking for mount. She gets it, maintaining position despite Carolina bridging. Round ends in something like a triangle position. 10-9 Botelho.

Round 2: Carolina punches into the clinch, gives up a body lock. Botelho looks for a takedown, can’t get it. One minute in. Trading knees inside, Carolina getting the better of it. Botelho reverses in turn two minutes in. Nice whizzer counter to a takedown by Carolina. She gets to the front headlock, tries to wrap something up. Back to the fence with two minutes to go.

Jockeying for position once again. One minute to go. Carolina in the better position, tries an elbow before they separate. She’s sporting a cut around her right eye. She first combinations, gets pressed against the fence. 10-9 Carolina.

Round 3: Carolina on the advance, tries an elbow. Botelho falls short with her return fire. More kicks from Carolina, avoiding the big right hands. Body kick lands for her a minute in. Botelho tries to come back with a head kick. Right hand from Botelho and she grabs the body lock. She tries to spin Carolina to the mat, but Carolina rolls through to land on top in guard. Botelho just holding onto her wrists two minutes in. Ref wants more action. Carolina looking for the back with two minutes to go.

One hook in, working on the other. Both in. Carolina swatting with short punches as Botelho holds onto her wrists. One minute to go. Botelho not doing anything to improve her position as Carolina chips away. Crolina tries to get the choke before the bell. 10-9 Carolina.

Round 1: Lookboonmee fires some kicks, gets backed off by right hands. Body kick lands for her. Teep. One minute in. Hughes shoots and puts her on the fence, eating body knees for her trouble. Nice outside trip into side control by Lookboonmee. Hughes unable to use the cage, eats elbows. Hughes regains guard, eats a hard right hand before Lookboonmee lets her up. Two minutes in. Right hand by Hughes. She grabs double unders and puts Lookboonmee on the fence. Foot stomps. Lookboonmee answers with a foot sweep into half guard. Two minutes to go.

Hughes regains guard, eats elbows. Lookboonmee lets her up. Teep to the body, then a roundhouse. Hughes tries a flurry, lands a leg kick. Right cross. One minute to go. Glancing 1-2 by Hughes. Lookboonmee low kick. Hughes puts her on the fence once again and they trade knees downstairs. Late takedown from Lookboonmee. 10-9 Lookboonmee.

Round 2: Some early close-quarters exchanges. They scramble, Lookboonmee looks for a guillotine but ends up on one knee against the fence. One minute in. Lookboonmee manages to stand and separate. Both fire right hands. Low kick from Lookboonmee. Hughes with a right hand and jab. Two minutes in. Lookboonmee leg kick and teep. She tries a Superman punch and Hughes takes her to the fence. They trade knees downstairs. Two minutes to go.

Lookboonmee landing knees in the clinch. Hughes keeping her pressed against the fence. One minute to go. Hughes still driving. Browne elbows by Lookboonmee. More knees and they separate. She tries combinations, then takes Hughes down into guard. 10-9 Lookboonmee? It was close, but she did more in the clinch.

Round 3: Hughes on the advance. Lookboonmee looking for body kicks as she circles. Hughes jab, Lookboonmee leg kick. Hughes tries a combination. One minute in. Counter right by Lookboonmee. They tie up in teh center and Hughes takes her to the fence. Lookboonmee landing knees as she defends. Two minutes in. Hughes with an elbow as they separate. They trade right hands, counter left from Hughes that draws a response from Lookboonmee. Hughes lands, takes her to the fence. Two minutes to go.

185 lbs.: K.B. Bhullar vs. Andreas Michailidis

Round 1: Bhullar southpaw, Michailidis orthodox. Michailidis tries a body kick. Very tentative start. One minute in. Michailidis steps in with a body kick. Big blitz by the Greek, no clean connections. Glancing head kick. More haymakers by Michailidis and a lot of these land. He ties up on the fence two minutes in. Bhullar eats a knee to the body before reversing. They separate. Body kick from Bhullar. Michailidis answers in kind. Two minutes to go.

Bhullar looks for a head kick. Staying at range, flicking out kicks. Another head kick and a big blitz by Michailidis, who changes levels against the fence. Successful takedown, looking to take the back. One minute to go. Bhullar literally just lets Michailidis get his second hook in. Can’t get the choke. Borderline 10-8, but I think 10-9 Michailidis.

Round 2: Early hooks from Michailidis. Bhullar responds with a low blow. Body kick from Michailidis, eats a jab and low kick in return. Bhullar at least looking a bit busier a minute in. Michailidis checks low kicks. Michailidis swings big, tries a head kick. More wide swings. Bhullar avoiding the big shots but not offering anything in return. Two minutes in. He’s got a fading opponent in front of him and is too scared to throw a punch. Body kick from Michailidis. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Sanders counters an early body kick with punches. Colares goes right back to the body kick. He tries to follow with a wheel kick, then eats body and low kicks from Sanders. Sanders blitzes and drops him with a hard left hand. Colares pops back up, eats elbows and a questionably legal knee as he tries to shoot in. Sanders bombing away from the top. Colares manages to slow things down. Knees to the body from Sanders. Two minutes in. Colares scrambles up to put him on the fence. Sanders reverses, exits with an elbow. Hard right hand, big combo on the fence. More left hands. Colares ducks an uppercut for a takedown attempt. Two minutes to go.

Jockeying for position. Sanders with a knee on the exit. 1-2-3 from Sanders, walks into a counter right. More counters by Colares. One minute to go. Good exchange. They trade lefts. Colares now advancing, knocks Sanders back with a right hand. Body kick exchange. Sanders grabs a body lock and takes him to the fence. 10-9 Sanders.

Round 2: Slower start to this round. Left hand, body kick, low kick from Sanders. Colares whiffs on a long right and eats counters. Sanders grabs a body lock and takes him to the fence a minute in. Knee from Colares before they separate. Trading punches in the center. Colares body kick and they trade crosses. Big flurry from Sanders, clean uppercut. Easy double-leg into guard. They separate. Colares with a right downstairs, takes a stray low blow. They trade power hands. Colares body kick. They trade in the center, good knee by Colares. Sanders catches a body kick for a takedown, can’t keep him there. Colares tries a spinning elbow when the next one gets caught. Sanders ties up and falls victim to that same whizzer throw. Colares retakes his back in the final 20 seconds. Sanders manages to stand and they trade one last time. 10-9 Colares.
